While the man was standing beside me, I heard someone speaking to me from the temple.(A) He said to me: “Son of man, this is the place of My throne and the place for the soles of My feet,(B) where I will dwell among the Israelites forever.(C) The house of Israel and their kings will no longer defile My holy name by their religious prostitution and by the corpses[a](D) of their kings at their high places.[b](E) Whenever they placed their threshold next to My threshold and their doorposts beside My doorposts, with only a wall between Me and them, they were defiling My holy name by the detestable acts they committed.(F) So I destroyed them in My anger. Now let them remove their prostitution and the corpses[c](G) of their kings far from Me, and I will dwell among them forever.(H)

10 “As for you, son of man, describe the temple to the house of Israel,(I) so that they may be ashamed of their iniquities.(J) Let them measure its pattern,(K) 11 and they will be ashamed of all that they have done. Reveal[d] the design of the temple to them—its layout with its exits and entrances(L)—its complete design along with all its statutes, design specifications, and laws. Write it down in their sight(M) so that they may observe its complete design and all its statutes and may carry them out.(N) 12 This is the law of the temple: all its surrounding territory on top of the mountain(O) will be especially holy. Yes, this is the law of the temple.

A man was standing next to me, but the voice that I heard came from inside the temple. He said to me, Human one, this is the place for my throne and the place for the soles of my feet, where I will dwell among the Israelites forever. The house of Israel will never again defile my holy name, neither they nor their kings, with their disloyalties[a] and with their kings’ corpses at the shrines. When they set their plazas[b] with mine and their doorposts next to mine, the wall was between us. They defiled my holy name with their detestable practices, so I consumed them in my anger. Now let them remove their disloyalties and their kings’ corpses from me, and I will dwell among them forever.

10 You, human one, describe the temple to the house of Israel. Let them be humiliated because of their guilt when they think about its design. 11 When they feel humiliated by all that they have done, make known to them the shape of the temple and its adornment, its exits and its entrances, its entire plan and all of its regulations.[c] Write them down in their sight so that they may observe all of its entire plan and all its regulations and perform them.

12 These are the instructions for the temple: the top of the mountain, as well as its boundaries all around, are most holy. These are the instructions for the temple.

While the man was standing beside me, I heard someone speaking to me from inside the temple. He said: “Son of man, this is the place of my throne(A) and the place for the soles of my feet. This is where I will live among the Israelites forever. The people of Israel will never again defile(B) my holy name—neither they nor their kings—by their prostitution and the funeral offerings[a] for their kings at their death.[b](C) When they placed their threshold next to my threshold and their doorposts beside my doorposts, with only a wall between me and them, they defiled my holy name by their detestable practices. So I destroyed them in my anger. Now let them put away from me their prostitution and the funeral offerings for their kings, and I will live among them forever.(D)

10 “Son of man, describe the temple to the people of Israel, that they may be ashamed(E) of their sins. Let them consider its perfection, 11 and if they are ashamed of all they have done, make known to them the design of the temple—its arrangement, its exits and entrances—its whole design and all its regulations[c] and laws. Write these down before them so that they may be faithful to its design and follow all its regulations.(F)

12 “This is the law of the temple: All the surrounding area(G) on top of the mountain will be most holy.(H) Such is the law of the temple.
