The Valley of Dry Bones
37 The hand of the Lord came upon me, and he brought me out by the spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me all around them; there were very many lying in the valley, and they were very dry. 3 He said to me, “Mortal, can these bones live?” I answered, “O Lord God, you know.” 4 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them: O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. 5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: I will cause breath[a] to enter you, and you shall live. 6 I will lay sinews on you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath[b] in you, and you shall live; and you shall know that I am the Lord.”
7 So I prophesied as I had been commanded; and as I prophesied, suddenly there was a noise, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. 8 I looked, and there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them; but there was no breath in them. 9 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, mortal, and say to the breath:[c] Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath,[d] and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.” 10 I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood on their feet, a vast multitude.
11 Then he said to me, “Mortal, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are cut off completely.’ 12 Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: I am going to open your graves, and bring you up from your graves, O my people; and I will bring you back to the land of Israel. 13 And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, and bring you up from your graves, O my people. 14 I will put my spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you on your own soil; then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken and will act, says the Lord.”

3 Mi disse: «Figlio d’uomo, queste ossa potrebbero rivivere?» E io risposi: «Signore, Dio, tu lo sai».
4 Egli mi disse: «Profetizza su queste ossa e di’ loro: “Ossa secche, ascoltate la parola del Signore!” 5 Così dice il Signore, Dio, a queste ossa: “Ecco, io faccio entrare in voi lo spirito e voi rivivrete; 6 metterò su di voi dei muscoli, farò nascere su di voi della carne, vi coprirò di pelle, metterò in voi lo spirito e rivivrete; e conoscerete che io sono il Signore”». 7 Io profetizzai come mi era stato comandato, e come io profetizzavo, si fece un rumore; ed ecco un movimento: le ossa si accostarono le une alle altre. 8 Io guardai, ed ecco venire su di esse dei muscoli, crescervi la carne, e la pelle ricoprirle; ma non c’era in esse nessuno spirito.
9 Allora egli mi disse: «Profetizza allo Spirito, profetizza figlio d’uomo, e di’ allo Spirito: Così parla il Signore, Dio: “Vieni dai quattro venti, o Spirito, soffia su questi uccisi, e fa’ che rivivano!”». 10 Io profetizzai, come egli mi aveva comandato, e lo Spirito entrò in essi: tornarono alla vita e si alzarono in piedi; erano un esercito grande, grandissimo.
11 Egli mi disse: «Figlio d’uomo, queste ossa sono tutta la casa d’Israele. Ecco, essi dicono: “Le nostre ossa sono secche, la nostra speranza è svanita, noi siamo perduti!” 12 Perciò, profetizza e di’ loro: Così parla il Signore, Dio: “Ecco, io aprirò le vostre tombe, vi tirerò fuori dalle vostre tombe, o popolo mio, e vi ricondurrò nel paese d’Israele. 13 Voi conoscerete che io sono il Signore, quando aprirò le vostre tombe e vi tirerò fuori dalle vostre tombe, o popolo mio! 14 E metterò in voi il mio Spirito, e voi tornerete in vita; vi porrò sul vostro suolo, e conoscerete che io, il Signore, ho parlato e ho messo la cosa in atto”, dice il Signore».

2 Und er führte mich ringsherum an ihnen vorüber; und siehe, es waren sehr viele auf der Ebene; und siehe, sie waren sehr dürr.
3 Da sprach er zu mir: Menschensohn, können diese Gebeine wieder lebendig werden? Ich antwortete: O Herr, Herr, du weißt es!
4 Da sprach er zu mir: Weissage über diese Gebeine und sprich zu ihnen: Ihr verdorrten Gebeine, hört das Wort des Herrn!
5 So spricht Gott, der Herr, zu diesen Gebeinen: Seht, ich will Odem[b] in euch kommen lassen, dass ihr lebendig werdet!
6 Ich will euch Sehnen geben und Fleisch über euch wachsen lassen und euch mit Haut überziehen und Odem in euch geben, dass ihr lebendig werdet; und ihr werdet erkennen, dass ich der Herr bin!
7 Da weissagte ich, wie mir befohlen war, und als ich weissagte, entstand ein Geräusch[c], und siehe, eine Erschütterung[d], und die Gebeine rückten zusammen, ein Knochen zum anderen.
8 Und ich schaute, und siehe, sie bekamen Sehnen, und es wuchs Fleisch an ihnen; und es zog sich Haut darüber; aber es war noch kein Odem in ihnen.
9 Da sprach er zu mir: Richte eine Weissagung an den Odem; weissage, Menschensohn, und sprich zum Odem: So spricht Gott, der Herr: Odem, komme von den vier Windrichtungen und hauche diese Getöteten an, dass sie lebendig werden!
10 So weissagte ich, wie er mir befohlen hatte. Da kam der Odem in sie, und sie wurden lebendig und stellten sich auf ihre Füße — ein sehr, sehr großes Heer.
11 Und er sprach zu mir: Menschensohn, diese Gebeine sind das ganze Haus Israel. Siehe, sie sprechen: »Unsere Gebeine sind verdorrt, und unsere Hoffnung ist verloren; es ist aus mit uns!«[e]
12 Darum weissage und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht Gott, der Herr: Siehe, ich will eure Gräber öffnen und euch, mein Volk, aus euren Gräbern heraufbringen, und ich will euch wieder in das Land Israel bringen;

37 Az Úr megragadott engem; elvitt engem az Úr lélek által, és letett egy völgyben. Tele volt az csontokkal.
2 Végigvezetett köztük körös-körül, és láttam, hogy nagyon sok csont volt a völgyben, és már nagyon szárazak voltak.
3 Megkérdezte tőlem: Emberfia! Életre kelnek-e még ezek a csontok? Én így feleltem: Ó, Uram, Uram, te tudod!
4 Akkor ezt mondta nekem: Prófétálj e csontokról! Mondd nekik: Ti száraz csontok, halljátok az Úr igéjét!

37 La main de l’Eternel se posa sur moi et l’Eternel m’emmena par son Esprit et me déposa au milieu d’une vallée pleine d’ossements. 2 Il me fit promener près d’eux tout autour et je constatai que ces ossements étaient innombrables sur toute l’étendue de la vallée et qu’ils étaient totalement desséchés.
3 Il me demanda : Fils d’homme, crois-tu que ces ossements revivront ?
Je répondis : Toi seul, Seigneur Eternel, tu le sais.
4 Puis il me dit : Prophétise sur ces ossements-là et dis-leur : « Ossements desséchés ! Ecoutez ce que dit l’Eternel ! 5 Voici ce que vous déclare le Seigneur, l’Eternel : Je vais faire venir en vous l’Esprit et vous revivrez. 6 Je mettrai sur vous des nerfs, je vous revêtirai de chair, je vous recouvrirai de peau, je mettrai en vous l’Esprit et vous revivrez. Et vous reconnaîtrez que je suis l’Eternel. »
7 Je prophétisai donc comme j’en avais reçu l’ordre. Et tandis que je prophétisais, il y eut soudain un bruit, puis un mouvement se produisit et les os se rapprochèrent les uns des autres. 8 Et, pendant que je regardais, voici qu’il se formait sur eux des nerfs et de la chair et que de la peau venait les recouvrir, mais il n’y avait pas d’esprit[a] en eux.
9 Alors l’Eternel me dit : Fils d’homme, prophétise à l’adresse de l’Esprit, prophétise et dis à l’Esprit : « Voici ce que déclare le Seigneur, l’Eternel : Esprit, viens des quatre coins du ciel et souffle[b] sur ces morts pour qu’ils revivent. »
10 Je prophétisai donc comme il me l’avait ordonné. Alors, l’Esprit entra en eux et ils reprirent vie, ils se dressèrent sur leurs pieds et ce fut une immense armée.
11 Il me dit : Fils d’homme, ces ossements-là représentent toute la communauté d’Israël. Voici ce qu’ils disent : « Nos os sont desséchés ! Notre espérance s’est évanouie, la vie nous a été arrachée[c]. » 12 C’est pourquoi prophétise et dis-leur : « Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, l’Eternel : Je vais ouvrir vos sépulcres et je vous ferai remonter de vos tombes, ô mon peuple, et je vous ramènerai dans le pays d’Israël. 13 Et vous reconnaîtrez que je suis l’Eternel lorsque j’ouvrirai vos sépulcres et que je vous ferai remonter de vos tombes, ô mon peuple. 14 Je mettrai mon Esprit en vous et vous revivrez, et je vous établirai de nouveau dans votre pays ; alors vous reconnaîtrez que moi, l’Eternel, j’ai parlé et agi, l’Eternel le déclare. »

9 Alors l’Eternel me dit : Fils d’homme, prophétise à l’adresse de l’Esprit, prophétise et dis à l’Esprit : « Voici ce que déclare le Seigneur, l’Eternel : Esprit, viens des quatre coins du ciel et souffle[b] sur ces morts pour qu’ils revivent. »
10 Je prophétisai donc comme il me l’avait ordonné. Alors, l’Esprit entra en eux et ils reprirent vie, ils se dressèrent sur leurs pieds et ce fut une immense armée.
11 Il me dit : Fils d’homme, ces ossements-là représentent toute la communauté d’Israël. Voici ce qu’ils disent : « Nos os sont desséchés ! Notre espérance s’est évanouie, la vie nous a été arrachée[c]. » 12 C’est pourquoi prophétise et dis-leur : « Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, l’Eternel : Je vais ouvrir vos sépulcres et je vous ferai remonter de vos tombes, ô mon peuple, et je vous ramènerai dans le pays d’Israël. 13 Et vous reconnaîtrez que je suis l’Eternel lorsque j’ouvrirai vos sépulcres et que je vous ferai remonter de vos tombes, ô mon peuple. 14 Je mettrai mon Esprit en vous et vous revivrez, et je vous établirai de nouveau dans votre pays ; alors vous reconnaîtrez que moi, l’Eternel, j’ai parlé et agi, l’Eternel le déclare. »

37 The hand of the Lord came upon me, and he brought me out by the spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me all around them; there were very many lying in the valley, and they were very dry. 3 He said to me, “Mortal, can these bones live?” I answered, “O Lord God, you know.” 4 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them: O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. 5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: I will cause breath[a] to enter you, and you shall live. 6 I will lay sinews on you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath[b] in you, and you shall live; and you shall know that I am the Lord.”

3 Da sprach er zu mir: Menschensohn, können diese Gebeine wieder lebendig werden? Ich antwortete: O Herr, Herr, du weißt es!
4 Da sprach er zu mir: Weissage über diese Gebeine und sprich zu ihnen: Ihr verdorrten Gebeine, hört das Wort des Herrn!
5 So spricht Gott, der Herr, zu diesen Gebeinen: Seht, ich will Odem[b] in euch kommen lassen, dass ihr lebendig werdet!
6 Ich will euch Sehnen geben und Fleisch über euch wachsen lassen und euch mit Haut überziehen und Odem in euch geben, dass ihr lebendig werdet; und ihr werdet erkennen, dass ich der Herr bin!

2 Végigvezetett köztük körös-körül, és láttam, hogy nagyon sok csont volt a völgyben, és már nagyon szárazak voltak.
3 Megkérdezte tőlem: Emberfia! Életre kelnek-e még ezek a csontok? Én így feleltem: Ó, Uram, Uram, te tudod!
4 Akkor ezt mondta nekem: Prófétálj e csontokról! Mondd nekik: Ti száraz csontok, halljátok az Úr igéjét!
5 Így szól az én Uram, az Úr ezekhez a csontokhoz: Én lelket adok belétek, és életre fogtok kelni.

37 La main de l’Eternel se posa sur moi et l’Eternel m’emmena par son Esprit et me déposa au milieu d’une vallée pleine d’ossements. 2 Il me fit promener près d’eux tout autour et je constatai que ces ossements étaient innombrables sur toute l’étendue de la vallée et qu’ils étaient totalement desséchés.
3 Il me demanda : Fils d’homme, crois-tu que ces ossements revivront ?
Je répondis : Toi seul, Seigneur Eternel, tu le sais.
4 Puis il me dit : Prophétise sur ces ossements-là et dis-leur : « Ossements desséchés ! Ecoutez ce que dit l’Eternel ! 5 Voici ce que vous déclare le Seigneur, l’Eternel : Je vais faire venir en vous l’Esprit et vous revivrez. 6 Je mettrai sur vous des nerfs, je vous revêtirai de chair, je vous recouvrirai de peau, je mettrai en vous l’Esprit et vous revivrez. Et vous reconnaîtrez que je suis l’Eternel. »
7 Je prophétisai donc comme j’en avais reçu l’ordre. Et tandis que je prophétisais, il y eut soudain un bruit, puis un mouvement se produisit et les os se rapprochèrent les uns des autres. 8 Et, pendant que je regardais, voici qu’il se formait sur eux des nerfs et de la chair et que de la peau venait les recouvrir, mais il n’y avait pas d’esprit[a] en eux.

37 La main de l’Eternel se posa sur moi et l’Eternel m’emmena par son Esprit et me déposa au milieu d’une vallée pleine d’ossements. 2 Il me fit promener près d’eux tout autour et je constatai que ces ossements étaient innombrables sur toute l’étendue de la vallée et qu’ils étaient totalement desséchés.
3 Il me demanda : Fils d’homme, crois-tu que ces ossements revivront ?
Je répondis : Toi seul, Seigneur Eternel, tu le sais.
4 Puis il me dit : Prophétise sur ces ossements-là et dis-leur : « Ossements desséchés ! Ecoutez ce que dit l’Eternel ! 5 Voici ce que vous déclare le Seigneur, l’Eternel : Je vais faire venir en vous l’Esprit et vous revivrez. 6 Je mettrai sur vous des nerfs, je vous revêtirai de chair, je vous recouvrirai de peau, je mettrai en vous l’Esprit et vous revivrez. Et vous reconnaîtrez que je suis l’Eternel. »
7 Je prophétisai donc comme j’en avais reçu l’ordre. Et tandis que je prophétisais, il y eut soudain un bruit, puis un mouvement se produisit et les os se rapprochèrent les uns des autres. 8 Et, pendant que je regardais, voici qu’il se formait sur eux des nerfs et de la chair et que de la peau venait les recouvrir, mais il n’y avait pas d’esprit[a] en eux.
9 Alors l’Eternel me dit : Fils d’homme, prophétise à l’adresse de l’Esprit, prophétise et dis à l’Esprit : « Voici ce que déclare le Seigneur, l’Eternel : Esprit, viens des quatre coins du ciel et souffle[b] sur ces morts pour qu’ils revivent. »
10 Je prophétisai donc comme il me l’avait ordonné. Alors, l’Esprit entra en eux et ils reprirent vie, ils se dressèrent sur leurs pieds et ce fut une immense armée.
11 Il me dit : Fils d’homme, ces ossements-là représentent toute la communauté d’Israël. Voici ce qu’ils disent : « Nos os sont desséchés ! Notre espérance s’est évanouie, la vie nous a été arrachée[c]. » 12 C’est pourquoi prophétise et dis-leur : « Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, l’Eternel : Je vais ouvrir vos sépulcres et je vous ferai remonter de vos tombes, ô mon peuple, et je vous ramènerai dans le pays d’Israël. 13 Et vous reconnaîtrez que je suis l’Eternel lorsque j’ouvrirai vos sépulcres et que je vous ferai remonter de vos tombes, ô mon peuple. 14 Je mettrai mon Esprit en vous et vous revivrez, et je vous établirai de nouveau dans votre pays ; alors vous reconnaîtrez que moi, l’Eternel, j’ai parlé et agi, l’Eternel le déclare. »

37 The hand of the Lord came upon me, and he brought me out by the spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me all around them; there were very many lying in the valley, and they were very dry. 3 He said to me, “Mortal, can these bones live?” I answered, “O Lord God, you know.” 4 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them: O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. 5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: I will cause breath[a] to enter you, and you shall live. 6 I will lay sinews on you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath[b] in you, and you shall live; and you shall know that I am the Lord.”
7 So I prophesied as I had been commanded; and as I prophesied, suddenly there was a noise, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. 8 I looked, and there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them; but there was no breath in them. 9 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, mortal, and say to the breath:[c] Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath,[d] and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.” 10 I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood on their feet, a vast multitude.
11 Then he said to me, “Mortal, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are cut off completely.’ 12 Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: I am going to open your graves, and bring you up from your graves, O my people; and I will bring you back to the land of Israel. 13 And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, and bring you up from your graves, O my people. 14 I will put my spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you on your own soil; then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken and will act, says the Lord.”

2 Und er führte mich ringsherum an ihnen vorüber; und siehe, es waren sehr viele auf der Ebene; und siehe, sie waren sehr dürr.
3 Da sprach er zu mir: Menschensohn, können diese Gebeine wieder lebendig werden? Ich antwortete: O Herr, Herr, du weißt es!
4 Da sprach er zu mir: Weissage über diese Gebeine und sprich zu ihnen: Ihr verdorrten Gebeine, hört das Wort des Herrn!
5 So spricht Gott, der Herr, zu diesen Gebeinen: Seht, ich will Odem[b] in euch kommen lassen, dass ihr lebendig werdet!
6 Ich will euch Sehnen geben und Fleisch über euch wachsen lassen und euch mit Haut überziehen und Odem in euch geben, dass ihr lebendig werdet; und ihr werdet erkennen, dass ich der Herr bin!
7 Da weissagte ich, wie mir befohlen war, und als ich weissagte, entstand ein Geräusch[c], und siehe, eine Erschütterung[d], und die Gebeine rückten zusammen, ein Knochen zum anderen.
8 Und ich schaute, und siehe, sie bekamen Sehnen, und es wuchs Fleisch an ihnen; und es zog sich Haut darüber; aber es war noch kein Odem in ihnen.
9 Da sprach er zu mir: Richte eine Weissagung an den Odem; weissage, Menschensohn, und sprich zum Odem: So spricht Gott, der Herr: Odem, komme von den vier Windrichtungen und hauche diese Getöteten an, dass sie lebendig werden!
10 So weissagte ich, wie er mir befohlen hatte. Da kam der Odem in sie, und sie wurden lebendig und stellten sich auf ihre Füße — ein sehr, sehr großes Heer.
11 Und er sprach zu mir: Menschensohn, diese Gebeine sind das ganze Haus Israel. Siehe, sie sprechen: »Unsere Gebeine sind verdorrt, und unsere Hoffnung ist verloren; es ist aus mit uns!«[e]

37 Az Úr megragadott engem; elvitt engem az Úr lélek által, és letett egy völgyben. Tele volt az csontokkal.
2 Végigvezetett köztük körös-körül, és láttam, hogy nagyon sok csont volt a völgyben, és már nagyon szárazak voltak.
3 Megkérdezte tőlem: Emberfia! Életre kelnek-e még ezek a csontok? Én így feleltem: Ó, Uram, Uram, te tudod!
4 Akkor ezt mondta nekem: Prófétálj e csontokról! Mondd nekik: Ti száraz csontok, halljátok az Úr igéjét!
5 Így szól az én Uram, az Úr ezekhez a csontokhoz: Én lelket adok belétek, és életre fogtok kelni.
6 Inakat adok rátok, húst rakok rátok, és beborítlak benneteket bőrrel, azután lelket adok belétek, hogy életre keljetek. Akkor megtudjátok, hogy én vagyok az Úr.
