³⁰ I ^(A)searched for a man among them who would ^(B)build up a wall and ^(C)stand in the gap before Me for the land, so that I would not destroy it; but I found ^[a]no one. ³¹ So I have poured out My ^(D)indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; I have brought ^(E)their way upon their heads,” declares the Lord God.

Daniel Comforted

¹⁰ Then behold, a hand ^(A)touched me and shook me on my ^[a]hands and knees. ¹¹ And he said to me, “^(B)Daniel, ^[b]you who are treasured, ^(C)understand the words that I am about to tell you and ^(D)stand at your place, for I have now been sent to you.” And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood up ^(E)trembling. ¹² Then he said to me, “^(F)Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on ^(G)humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come ^(H)in response to your words. ¹³ But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was standing ^[c]in my way for twenty-one days; then behold, ^(I)Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia.
