Ezekiel 17:6-8
New Catholic Bible
6 It sprouted and became a vine,
low-lying and spreading forth.
Its branches turned toward him,
but its roots remained firmly in place.
Thus it became a vine, produced branches,
and put forth lofty shoots.
7 But there was another great eagle
with large wings and thick plumage.
From the plot where it had been planted
this vine stretched forth its roots toward him
so that he might water it.
It turned away from the bed where it was planted.
8 In a fertile field by abundant waters,
it was planted so that it might branch forth,
bear fruit, and become a noble vine.
Ezekiel 17:6-8
New American Bible (Revised Edition)
6 That it might sprout and become a vine,
dense and low-lying,
With its branches turned toward him,
its roots beneath it.
Thus it became a vine, produced branches,
and put forth shoots.
7 Then another great eagle appeared,
with wide wingspan, rich in plumage,
And see! This vine bent its roots to him,
sent out branches for him to water.
From the bed where it was planted,(A)
8 it was transplanted to a fertile field
By abundant waters, to produce branches,
to bear fruit, to become a majestic vine.
Ezekiel 17:6-8

The vine now sent out its roots toward him from the plot where it was planted and stretched out its branches to him for water.(C) 8 It had been planted in good soil by abundant water so that it would produce branches,(D) bear fruit and become a splendid vine.’
Ezekiel 17:6-8
New King James Version
6 And it grew and became a spreading vine (A)of low stature;
Its branches turned toward him,
But its roots were under it.
So it became a vine,
Brought forth branches,
And put forth shoots.
7 “But there was [a]another great eagle with large wings and many feathers;
And behold, (B)this vine bent its roots toward him,
And stretched its branches toward him,
From the garden terrace where it had been planted,

8 It was planted in [b]good soil by many waters,
To bring forth branches, bear fruit,
And become a majestic vine.” ’
