⁷ He said to me: “Mortal, this is the place of my throne and the place for the soles of my feet, where I will reside among the people of Israel forever. The house of Israel shall no more defile my holy name, neither they nor their kings, by their prostitution and by sacrificing to their kings^[a] at their death.^[b](A)

⁹ Now let them put away their idolatry and sacrifices to their kings^[a] far from me, and I will reside among them forever.^(A)

³⁰ I will destroy your high places and cut down your incense altars; I will heap your carcasses on the carcasses of your idols. I will abhor you.^(A)

³ Nothing accursed will be found there any more. But the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him;^(A)

³⁹ As for you, O house of Israel, thus says the Lord God: Go serve your idols, every one of you now and hereafter, if you will not listen to me, but my holy name you shall no more profane with your gifts and your idols.^(A)

²⁶ And above the dome over their heads there was something like a throne, in appearance like sapphire,^[a] and seated above the likeness of the throne was something that seemed like a human form.^(A)

Praise to God for His Holiness

² Then King David rose to his feet and said, “Hear me, my brothers and my people. I had planned to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, for the footstool of our God, and I made preparations for building.^(A)

² And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.^{(A) 3} And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying,
