² and I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. His voice was like the roar of rushing waters,^(A) and the land was radiant with his glory.^(B)

Lament Over Fallen Babylon

18 After this I saw another angel^(A) coming down from heaven.^(B) He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor.^(C)

²³ The glory^(A) of the Lord went up from within the city and stopped above the mountain^(B) east of it.

³ And they were calling to one another:

¹⁸ Then the glory^(A) of the Lord departed from over the threshold of the temple and stopped above the cherubim.^{(B) 19} While I watched, the cherubim spread their wings and rose from the ground, and as they went, the wheels went with them.^(C) They stopped at the entrance of the east gate of the Lord’s house, and the glory^(D) of the God of Israel was above them.

⁴ Then the glory of the Lord^(A) rose from above the cherubim and moved to the threshold of the temple. The cloud filled the temple, and the court was full of the radiance of the glory of the Lord.

²⁸ Like the appearance of a rainbow^(A) in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him.^(B)

This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory^(C) of the Lord. When I saw it, I fell facedown,^(D) and I heard the voice of one speaking.

¹⁵ His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace,^(A) and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.^(B)

²³ So I got up and went out to the plain. And the glory of the Lord was standing there, like the glory I had seen by the Kebar River,^(A) and I fell facedown.^(B)
