^4 (A)The weak you have not strengthened, the sick you have not healed, ^(B)the injured you have not bound up, ^(C)the strayed you have not brought back, ^(D)the lost you have not sought, and with force and ^(E)harshness you have ruled them.

^12 (A)What do you think? ^(B)If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray? ¹³ And if he finds it, truly, I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray.

^36 (A)When he saw the crowds, ^(B)he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, ^(C)like sheep without a shepherd.

^16 (A)I will seek the lost, ^(B)and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, and ^(C)the fat and the strong I will destroy.^[a] I will feed them in justice.

^6 (A)but go rather to ^(B)the lost sheep of ^(C)the house of Israel.

¹⁵ Then the Lord said to me, “Take once more the equipment of ^(A)a foolish shepherd. ¹⁶ For behold, I am raising up in the land a shepherd ^(B)who does not care for those being destroyed, or seek the young or heal the maimed or nourish the healthy, but ^(C)devours the flesh of the fat ones, tearing off even their hoofs.

⁵ And on her forehead was written a name of ^(A)mystery: ^(B)“Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes and of earth's abominations.” ⁶ And I saw the woman, drunk ^(C)with the blood of the saints, the blood of ^(D)the martyrs of Jesus.^[a]

When I saw her, I marveled greatly.

¹³ So they ruthlessly made the people of Israel ^(A)work as slaves ¹⁴ and ^(B)made their lives bitter with hard service, in mortar and brick, and in all kinds of work in the field. In all their work they ruthlessly made them work as slaves.

¹⁴ and by the signs that it is allowed to work in the presence of^[a] the beast ^(A)it deceives those who dwell on earth, telling them to make an image for the beast ^(B)that was wounded by the sword and yet lived. ¹⁵ And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not ^(C)worship the image of the beast ^(D)to be slain. ¹⁶ Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave,^{[b] (E)}to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, ¹⁷ so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, ^(F)the name of the beast or ^(G)the number of its name.
