²⁴ “There is ^(A)Elam and all her multitude,
All around her grave,
All of them slain, fallen by the sword,
Who have ^(B)gone down uncircumcised to the lower parts of the earth,
^(C)Who caused their terror in the land of the living;
Now they bear their shame with those who go down to the Pit.
²⁵ They have set her ^(D)bed in the midst of the slain,
With all her multitude,
With her graves all around it,
All of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword;
Though their terror was caused
In the land of the living,
Yet they bear their shame
With those who go down to the Pit;
It was put in the midst of the slain.

²⁶ “There are ^(E)Meshech and Tubal and all their multitudes,
With all their graves around it,
All of them ^(F)uncircumcised, slain by the sword,
Though they caused their terror in the land of the living.
^27 (G)They do not lie with the mighty
Who are fallen of the uncircumcised,
Who have gone down to hell with their weapons of war;
They have laid their swords under their heads,
But their iniquities will be on their bones,
Because of the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.

“How you have perished,
O one inhabited by seafaring men,
O renowned city,
Who was ^(B)strong at sea,
She and her inhabitants,
Who caused their terror to be on all her inhabitants!

³² “For I have caused My terror in the land of the living;
And he shall be placed in the midst of the uncircumcised
With those slain by the sword,
Pharaoh and all his multitude,”
Says the Lord God.

¹² “I, even I, am He ^(A)who comforts you.
Who are you that you should be afraid
^(B)Of a man who will die,
And of the son of a man who will be made ^(C)like grass?
¹³ And ^(D)you forget the Lord your Maker,
^(E)Who stretched out the heavens
And laid the foundations of the earth;
You have feared continually every day
Because of the fury of the oppressor,
When he has prepared to destroy.
^(F)And where is the fury of the oppressor?
