¹¹ Then set it empty upon the coals, that it may become hot, and its copper may burn, ^(A)that its uncleanness may be melted in it, its corrosion consumed.

¹⁰ For ^(A)I have set my face against this city for harm and ^(B)not for good, declares the Lord: ^(C)it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.’

The Great Day of the Lord

4 ^[a] “For behold, ^(A)the day is coming, ^(B)burning like an oven, when ^(C)all the arrogant and ^(D)all evildoers ^(E)will be stubble. The day that is coming ^(F)shall set them ablaze, says the Lord of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.

¹² Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— ^13 (A)each one's work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed ^(B)by fire, and ^(C)the fire will test what sort of work each one has done.

¹² His ^(A)winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and ^(B)gather his wheat into the barn, ^(C)but the chaff he will burn with ^(D)unquenchable fire.”

13 ^(A)“On that day there shall be ^(B)a fountain opened for the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and uncleanness.

Idolatry Cut Off

² “And ^(C)on that day, declares the Lord of hosts, ^(D)I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, so that ^(E)they shall be remembered no more. And also ^(F)I will remove from the land the prophets and the spirit of uncleanness.

^25 (A)I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from ^(B)all your uncleannesses, and ^(C)from all your idols ^(D)I will cleanse you.
