¹⁹ And when you look up to the sky and see the sun,^(A) the moon and the stars^(B)—all the heavenly array^(C)—do not be enticed^(D) into bowing down to them and worshiping^(E) things the Lord your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven.

⁹ In you are slanderers^(A) who are bent on shedding blood;^(B) in you are those who eat at the mountain shrines^(C) and commit lewd acts.^{(D) 10} In you are those who dishonor their father’s bed;^(E) in you are those who violate women during their period,^(F) when they are ceremonially unclean.^{(G) 11} In you one man commits a detestable offense with his neighbor’s wife,^(H) another shamefully defiles his daughter-in-law,^(I) and another violates his sister,^(J) his own father’s daughter.^(K)

²⁴ because they had not obeyed my laws but had rejected my decrees^(A) and desecrated my Sabbaths,^(B) and their eyes lusted after^(C) their parents’ idols.^(D)

¹¹ (though the father has done none of them):

¹³ And they will know that I am the Lord, when their people lie slain among their idols^(A) around their altars, on every high hill and on all the mountaintops, under every spreading tree and every leafy oak^(B)—places where they offered fragrant incense to all their idols.^(C)

² who invited them to the sacrifices^(A) to their gods.^(B) The people ate the sacrificial meal and bowed down before these gods.

¹⁸ “‘If a man has sexual relations with a woman during her monthly period,^(A) he has exposed the source of her flow, and she has also uncovered it. Both of them are to be cut off from their people.^(B)
