Nor withheld a pledge,
Nor robbed by violence,
But has given his bread to the hungry
And covered the naked with clothing;

Has robbed no one by violence,
But has ^(C)given his bread to the hungry
And covered the naked with ^(D)clothing;

⁷ Is it not ^(A)to share your bread with the hungry,
And that you bring to your house the poor who are ^[a]cast out;
^(B)When you see the naked, that you cover him,
And not hide yourself from ^(C)your own flesh?
^8 (D)Then your light shall break forth like the morning,
Your healing shall spring forth speedily,
And your righteousness shall go before you;
^(E)The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
⁹ Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer;
You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’

11 Cast your bread ^(A)upon the waters,
^(B)For you will find it after many days.
^2 (C)Give a serving ^(D)to seven, and also to eight,
^(E)For you do not know what evil will be on the earth.

^20 (A)She extends her hand to the poor,
Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.
