¹² “Say now to ^(A)the rebellious house, ^(B)Do you not know what these things mean? Tell them, behold, ^(C)the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and took her king and her princes and brought them to him to Babylon.

¹⁹ And ^(A)the people said to me, “Will you not tell us what these things mean for us, that you are acting thus?”

³ say, Thus says the Lord God: ^(A)A great eagle ^(B)with great wings and long pinions, ^(C)rich in plumage of many colors, came ^(D)to Lebanon ^(E)and took the top of the cedar.

² On the fifth day of the month (it was ^(A)the fifth year of ^(B)the exile of King Jehoiachin),

³⁰ So Philip ran to him and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?”

^45 (A)But they did not understand this saying, and ^(B)it was concealed from them, so that they might not perceive it. And they were afraid to ask him about this saying.

^13 (A)And he said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables?

¹¹ How is it that you fail to understand that I did not speak about bread? ^(A)Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

¹⁶ And he said, ^(A)“Are you also still without understanding? ¹⁷ Do you not see that ^(B)whatever goes into the mouth passes into the stomach and is expelled?^[a]
