⁴ And he took this from their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool and made it into a ^(A)molten calf; and they said, “^[a]These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up from the land of Egypt.”

²⁸ So the king took counsel, and ^(A)made two golden ^(B)calves, and he said to them, “It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem; ^(C)behold your gods, O Israel, that brought you up from the land of Egypt.”

²⁹ However, ^(A)as for the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which he made Israel sin, from these Jehu did not depart, even the ^(B)golden calves that were at Bethel and that were at Dan.

¹⁶ And they forsook all the commandments of Yahweh their God and made for themselves molten images, even ^(A)two calves, and ^(B)made an ^[a]Asherah and ^(C)worshiped all the host of heaven and ^(D)served Baal.

³ and they played the harlot in Egypt. They ^(A)played the harlot in their youth; there their breasts were pressed, and there their virgin bosom was handled.

¹⁹ Yet she multiplied her harlotries, remembering the days of her youth, when she played the harlot in the land of Egypt.
