Les tentures du tabernacle
26 Tu feras le tabernacle avec dix tentures de fin lin retors[a], de pourpre violette et écarlate, de rouge éclatant, ornées de chérubins dans les règles de l’art. 2 Chaque tenture aura quatorze mètres de long et deux mètres de large[b]. Elles seront toutes identiques. 3 On coudra d’abord cinq de ces tentures l’une à l’autre, puis on fera de même pour les cinq autres[c]. 4 Sur le bord de la dernière tenture de chacun de ces assemblages, tu fixeras des cordons de pourpre violette. 5 Il y en aura cinquante à l’extrémité de chacun des deux assemblages et les cordons se correspondront l’un à l’autre. 6 Tu feras cinquante agrafes d’or au moyen desquelles tu assembleras les tentures, de sorte que le tabernacle forme un tout.
7 Ensuite tu feras onze tentures de poil de chèvre, pour recouvrir le tabernacle comme d’une tente[d]. 8 Chacune d’elles aura quinze mètres de long et deux mètres de large. Elles seront toutes identiques. 9 Tu les assembleras, cinq d’une part, six de l’autre, et tu rabattras la sixième sur le devant de la tente. 10 Tu fixeras cinquante cordons sur le bord de la dernière tenture de chaque assemblage 11 et tu feras cinquante agrafes de bronze dans lesquelles tu introduiras les cordons pour assembler la tente, afin qu’elle forme un tout. 12 Le pan supplémentaire des tentures de la tente – c’est-à-dire la moitié de l’assemblage des tentures qui sera en surplus – retombera librement sur l’arrière du tabernacle. 13 De même, le demi-mètre en surplus sur la longueur des tentures de la tente pendra librement de chaque côté du tabernacle pour bien le couvrir. 14 Tu mettras sur la tente une couverture de peaux de béliers teintes en rouge et une couverture de peaux de dauphins par-dessus.
L’armature du tabernacle
15 Tu feras pour le tabernacle des cadres en bois d’acacia qui seront posés debout. 16 Chaque cadre aura cinq mètres de long et soixante-quinze centimètres de large, 17 et sera muni de deux tenons parallèles. Tu feras ainsi pour tous les cadres du tabernacle. 18 Tu feras vingt cadres pour le côté sud du tabernacle. 19 Pour chacun d’eux, tu disposeras deux socles d’argent, un pour chaque tenon, soit quarante socles d’argent pour les vingt cadres. 20 Tu feras de même pour le second côté du tabernacle, le côté nord : vingt cadres, 21 supportés par quarante socles d’argent, à raison de deux par cadre. 22 Pour l’arrière du tabernacle, tourné vers l’ouest, tu prépareras six cadres. 23 Tu ajouteras deux cadres comme contreforts des angles arrières du tabernacle : 24 chacun sera jumelé avec l’un des cadres des extrémités, depuis le bas, et bien lié avec lui jusqu’à son sommet par un seul anneau ; les deux contreforts d’angles seront identiques. 25 Il y aura donc en tout huit cadres avec leurs seize socles d’argent, deux sous chaque cadre.
26 Tu feras cinq traverses de bois d’acacia pour les cadres d’un des côtés du tabernacle, 27 cinq pour l’autre côté et cinq pour le fond à l’ouest. 28 La traverse médiane, au milieu des cadres, courra d’une extrémité à l’autre du tabernacle. 29 Tu plaqueras d’or tous les cadres et tu fabriqueras des anneaux d’or pour recevoir les traverses que tu plaqueras également d’or. 30 Tu dresseras le tabernacle selon la manière qui t’est montrée sur la montagne.
Le voile
31 Tu feras un voile de pourpre violette et écarlate, de rouge éclatant et de fin lin retors, orné de chérubins, dans les règles de l’art. 32 Tu le suspendras à quatre piliers d’acacia plaqués d’or, munis de crochets d’or et posés sur quatre socles d’argent. 33 Tu fixeras le voile sous les agrafes.
C’est là, derrière le voile, que tu déposeras le coffre contenant l’acte de l’alliance. Ce voile vous servira de séparation entre le lieu saint et le lieu très saint[e]. 34 Tu poseras le propitiatoire sur le coffre de l’acte de l’alliance dans le lieu très saint. 35 Tu disposeras la table à l’extérieur[f], devant le voile, du côté nord du tabernacle, et le chandelier face à la table, du côté sud. 36 Tu confectionneras pour l’entrée de la tente un rideau de pourpre violette et écarlate, de rouge éclatant et de fin lin retors, en ouvrage de broderie. 37 Tu feras pour le rideau cinq piliers en acacia et tu les plaqueras d’or, tu les muniras de crochets en or, puis tu couleras pour ces piliers cinq socles de bronze.

- 26.2 Dans les chapitres 26 et 27, l’hébreu donne les mesures en coudées. Une coudée correspond à 50 centimètres. Certains n’attribuent que 44 ou 46 cm à la coudée, d’où les différences entre les versions modernes.
- 26.3 La couverture du tabernacle était composée de dix bandes parallèles de deux mètres de large. Elles étaient cousues cinq par cinq, bord à bord, dans le sens de leur longueur formant ainsi deux grands tapis de quatorze mètres sur dix mètres, l’un pour recouvrir le lieu saint, l’autre le lieu très saint.
- 26.7 Au-dessus de ce tissu précieux venait une tenture faite en poil de chèvre comme en utilisent encore les Bédouins pour leurs tentes. Ces tentures avaient un mètre de plus que le tissu précédent, il y avait une bande de plus, donc elles débordaient de cinquante centimètres de chaque côté et d’un mètre sur l’arrière (voir v. 12-13).
- 26.33 Seul le grand-prêtre avait le droit de franchir ce voile, une fois par an, le jour des Expiations (Lv 16 ; Hé 9.2-14). Au moment de la mort de Christ, c’est probablement ce voile qui s’est déchiré dans le Temple, indiquant qu’à présent tout croyant avait directement accès auprès de Dieu (Mt 27.51 ; Mc 15.38 ; voir Hé 6.19-20 ; 9.3-5 ; 10.19-22).
- 26.35 C’est-à-dire la table sur laquelle étaient déposés les pains exposés devant l’Eternel (25.23-30). Dans le lieu très saint, il n’y avait que le coffre de l’alliance ; dans le lieu saint, cette table, le chandelier d’or et l’autel d’encens.

14 (C)Също да направиш покрив за скинията от боядисани в червено овнешки кожи и отгоре му – едно покривало от язовски кожи.
15 Да направиш за скинията дъски от ситимово дърво, които да стоят изправени.
16 Десет лакътя да бъде дължината на всяка дъска и лакът и половина – широчината на всяка дъска;
17 и два шипа да има във всяка дъска, един срещу друг; и така да направиш на всички дъски на скинията.
18 И дъските на скинията да направиш: двадесет дъски за южната страна към пладне;

22 А за задната страна на скинията, западната, да направиш шест дъски.
23 И две дъски да направиш за ъглите на скинията от задната страна;
24 да бъдат скачени отдолу, а отгоре да бъдат свързани посредством едно колелце; така да бъде за двете дъски; те нека бъдат за двата ъгъла.
25 Така да бъдат осем дъски и сребърните им подложки, шестнадесет подложки – две подложки под една дъска и две подложки под друга дъска.
26 И да направиш лостове от ситимово дърво, пет за дъските от едната страна на скинията;
27 пет лоста за дъските от другата страна на скинията и пет лоста за дъските от задната страна на скинията, към запад.
28 А средният лост, който е в средата на дъските, да преминава от край до край.
29 Дъските да обковеш със злато и колелцата им да направиш от злато за халки на лостовете; да обковеш и лостовете със злато.
30 (D)Да издигнеш скинията според образеца ѝ, който ти беше показан на планината.
31 (E)И да направиш завеса от синьо, мораво, червено и препреден висон и да извезаш на нея изкусно изработени херувими.
32 Да я окачиш със златни куки на четири обковани със злато стълба от ситимово дърво, които да стоят на четири сребърни подложки.

26 Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them.
2 The length of one curtain shall be eight and twenty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and every one of the curtains shall have one measure.
3 The five curtains shall be coupled together one to another; and other five curtains shall be coupled one to another.
4 And thou shalt make loops of blue upon the edge of the one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling; and likewise shalt thou make in the uttermost edge of another curtain, in the coupling of the second.
5 Fifty loops shalt thou make in the one curtain, and fifty loops shalt thou make in the edge of the curtain that is in the coupling of the second; that the loops may take hold one of another.
6 And thou shalt make fifty taches of gold, and couple the curtains together with the taches: and it shall be one tabernacle.
7 And thou shalt make curtains of goats' hair to be a covering upon the tabernacle: eleven curtains shalt thou make.
8 The length of one curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and the eleven curtains shall be all of one measure.
9 And thou shalt couple five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves, and shalt double the sixth curtain in the forefront of the tabernacle.
10 And thou shalt make fifty loops on the edge of the one curtain that is outmost in the coupling, and fifty loops in the edge of the curtain which coupleth the second.
11 And thou shalt make fifty taches of brass, and put the taches into the loops, and couple the tent together, that it may be one.
12 And the remnant that remaineth of the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that remaineth, shall hang over the backside of the tabernacle.
13 And a cubit on the one side, and a cubit on the other side of that which remaineth in the length of the curtains of the tent, it shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on that side, to cover it.
14 And thou shalt make a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red, and a covering above of badgers' skins.
15 And thou shalt make boards for the tabernacle of shittim wood standing up.
16 Ten cubits shall be the length of a board, and a cubit and a half shall be the breadth of one board.
17 Two tenons shall there be in one board, set in order one against another: thus shalt thou make for all the boards of the tabernacle.
18 And thou shalt make the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards on the south side southward.
19 And thou shalt make forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for his two tenons, and two sockets under another board for his two tenons.
20 And for the second side of the tabernacle on the north side there shall be twenty boards:
21 And their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.
22 And for the sides of the tabernacle westward thou shalt make six boards.
23 And two boards shalt thou make for the corners of the tabernacle in the two sides.
24 And they shall be coupled together beneath, and they shall be coupled together above the head of it unto one ring: thus shall it be for them both; they shall be for the two corners.
25 And they shall be eight boards, and their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.
26 And thou shalt make bars of shittim wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,
27 And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the side of the tabernacle, for the two sides westward.
28 And the middle bar in the midst of the boards shall reach from end to end.
29 And thou shalt overlay the boards with gold, and make their rings of gold for places for the bars: and thou shalt overlay the bars with gold.
30 And thou shalt rear up the tabernacle according to the fashion thereof which was shewed thee in the mount.
31 And thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made:
32 And thou shalt hang it upon four pillars of shittim wood overlaid with gold: their hooks shall be of gold, upon the four sockets of silver.
33 And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy.
34 And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.
35 And thou shalt set the table without the vail, and the candlestick over against the table on the side of the tabernacle toward the south: and thou shalt put the table on the north side.

And every one of the curtains shall have [a]the same measurements. 3 Five curtains shall be coupled to one another, and the other five curtains shall be coupled to one another. 4 And you shall make loops of blue yarn on the edge of the curtain on the selvedge of one set, and likewise you shall do on the outer edge of the other curtain of the second set. 5 Fifty loops you shall make in the one curtain, and fifty loops you shall make on the edge of the curtain that is on the end of the second set, that the loops may be clasped to one another. 6 And you shall make fifty clasps of gold, and couple the curtains together with the clasps, so that it may be one tabernacle.
7 (C)“You shall also make curtains of goats’ hair, to be a tent over the tabernacle. You shall make eleven curtains. 8 The length of each curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the width of each curtain four cubits; and the eleven curtains shall all have the same measurements. 9 And you shall couple five curtains by themselves and six curtains by themselves, and you shall double over the sixth curtain at the forefront of the tent. 10 You shall make fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that is outermost in one set, and fifty loops on the edge of the curtain of the second set. 11 And you shall make fifty bronze clasps, put the clasps into the loops, and couple the tent together, that it may be one. 12 The remnant that remains of the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that remains, shall hang over the back of the tabernacle. 13 And a cubit on one side and a cubit on the other side, of what remains of the length of the curtains of the tent, shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle, on this side and on that side, to cover it.

15 “And for the tabernacle you shall (E)make the boards of acacia wood, standing upright. 16 Ten cubits shall be the length of a board, and a cubit and a half shall be the width of each board. 17 Two [b]tenons shall be in each board for binding one to another. Thus you shall make for all the boards of the tabernacle. 18 And you shall make the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards for the south side. 19 You shall make forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards: two sockets under each of the boards for its two tenons. 20 And for the second side of the tabernacle, the north side, there shall be twenty boards 21 and their forty sockets of silver: two sockets under each of the boards. 22 For the far side of the tabernacle, westward, you shall make six boards. 23 And you shall also make two boards for the two back corners of the tabernacle. 24 They shall be [c]coupled together at the bottom and they shall be coupled together at the top by one ring. 26 “And you shall make bars of acacia wood: five for the boards on one side of the tabernacle, 27 five bars for the boards on the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the side of the tabernacle, for the far side westward. 28 The (F)middle bar shall pass through the midst of the boards from end to end. 29 You shall overlay the boards with gold, make their rings of gold as holders for the bars, and overlay the bars with gold. 30 And you shall raise up the tabernacle (G)according to its pattern which you were shown on the mountain.
31 (H)“You shall make a veil woven of blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen. It shall be woven with an artistic design of cherubim. 32 You shall hang it upon the four pillars of acacia wood overlaid with gold. Their hooks shall be gold, upon four sockets of silver. 33 And you shall hang the veil from the clasps. Then you shall bring (I)the ark of the Testimony in there, behind the veil. The veil shall be a divider for you between (J)the holy place and the Most Holy. 34 (K)You shall put the mercy seat upon the ark of the Testimony in the Most Holy. 35 (L)You shall set the table outside the veil, and (M)the lampstand across from the table on the side of the tabernacle toward the south; and you shall put the table on the north side.
36 (N)“You shall make a screen for the door of the tabernacle, woven of blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen, made by a weaver. 37 And you shall make for the screen (O)five pillars of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold; their hooks shall be gold, and you shall cast five sockets of bronze for them.
