⁵ “that they may ^(A)believe that the Lord, ^(B)the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.”

⁹ And the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I am coming to you ^(A)in a thick cloud, that ^(B)the people may hear when I speak with you, and may also ^(C)believe you forever.”

When Moses told the words of the people to the Lord,

¹⁵ God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘The Lord,^[a] the ^(A)God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is ^(B)my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations.

³ And Jacob said to Joseph, ^(A)“God Almighty^[a] appeared to me at ^(B)Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me,

² And the Lord appeared to him and said, “Do not go down to Egypt; dwell ^(A)in the land of which I shall tell you.

18 And the Lord appeared to him by the ^(A)oaks^[a] of Mamre, as he sat at the door of his tent in the heat of the day.

⁷ Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, ^(A)“To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built there an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

^42 (A)I knew that you always hear me, but I said this ^(B)on account of the people standing around, ^(C)that they may believe that you sent me.”

³¹ And the people ^(A)believed; and when they heard that the Lord had ^(B)visited the people of Israel and that he had ^(C)seen their affliction, ^(D)they bowed their heads and worshiped.
