² “See, I have called by name Bezalel son of Uri son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,^(A)

36 “Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the Lord has given skill and understanding to know how to do any work in the construction of the sanctuary shall work in accordance with all that the Lord has commanded.”^(A)

Bezalel and Oholiab

³⁰ Then Moses said to the Israelites, “See, the Lord has called by name Bezalel son of Uri son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah;^(A)

²⁷ John answered, “No one can receive anything except what has been given from heaven.^(A)

¹⁶ So he appointed the twelve:^[a] Simon (to whom he gave the name Peter),^{(A) 17} James son of Zebedee and John the brother of James (to whom he gave the name Boanerges, that is, Sons of Thunder), ¹⁸ and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Cananaean, ¹⁹ and Judas Iscariot, who handed him over.

¹⁹ When Azubah died, Caleb married Ephrath, who bore him Hur.^{(A) 20} Hur became the father of Uri, and Uri became the father of Bezalel.^(B)

Making the Ark of the Covenant

37 Bezalel made the ark of acacia wood; it was two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high.^(A)

¹⁷ The Lord said to Moses, “I will also do this thing that you have asked, for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name.”^(A)

Moses’s Intercession

¹² Moses said to the Lord, “See, you have said to me, ‘Bring up this people,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found favor in my sight.’^(A)
