^15 (A)Six days shall work be done, but ^(B)the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the Lord. ^(C)Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day shall be put to death.

² And ^(A)on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done.

The Sabbath

^3 (A)“Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work. It is a Sabbath to the Lord in all your dwelling places.

²³ he said to them, “This is what the Lord has commanded: ‘Tomorrow is a day of ^(A)solemn rest, a holy Sabbath to the Lord; bake what you will bake and boil what you will boil, and all that is left over lay aside to be kept till the morning.’”

^21 (A)“Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest. In plowing time and in harvest you shall rest.

⁵⁶ Then they returned and ^(A)prepared spices and ointments.

On the Sabbath they rested ^(B)according to the commandment.

¹⁴ But ^(A)the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus ^(B)had healed on the Sabbath, said to the people, ^(C)“There are six days in which work ought to be done. Come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.”

²⁴ “‘But if you listen to me, declares the Lord, and ^(A)bring in no burden by the gates of this city on the Sabbath day, but ^(B)keep the Sabbath day holy and do no work on it, ²⁵ then ^(C)there shall enter by the gates of this city kings and princes who sit on the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they and their officials, the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And this city shall be inhabited forever. ²⁶ And people shall come from ^(D)the cities of Judah ^(E)and the places around Jerusalem, ^(F)from the land of Benjamin, ^(G)from the Shephelah, from the hill country, ^(H)and from ^(I)the Negeb, bringing ^(J)burnt offerings and sacrifices, grain offerings and frankincense, and ^(K)bringing thank offerings to the house of the Lord. ²⁷ But if you do not listen to me, to ^(L)keep the Sabbath day holy, ^(M)and not to bear a burden and enter by the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day, then I will ^(N)kindle a fire in its gates, and it shall ^(O)devour the palaces of Jerusalem and ^(P)shall not be quenched.’”

^2 (A)Six days work shall be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on it shall be put to death.
