⁸ So I have come down^(A) to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land,^(B) a land flowing with milk and honey^(C)—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites^(D) and Jebusites.^(E)

²⁴ Then Joseph said to his brothers, “I am about to die.^(A) But God will surely come to your aid^(B) and take you up out of this land to the land^(C) he promised on oath to Abraham,^(D) Isaac^(E) and Jacob.”^(F)

¹⁷ And I have promised to bring you up out of your misery in Egypt^(A) into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—a land flowing with milk and honey.’^(B)

¹⁸ On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram^(A) and said, “To your descendants I give this land,^(B) from the Wadi^[a] of Egypt^(C) to the great river, the Euphrates^(D)— ¹⁹ the land of the Kenites,^(E) Kenizzites, Kadmonites, ²⁰ Hittites,^(F) Perizzites,^(G) Rephaites,^{(H) 21} Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites and Jebusites.”^(I)

²⁵ Taking with them some of the fruit of the land, they brought it down to us and reported,^(A) “It is a good land^(B) that the Lord our God is giving us.”^(C)

⁵ When the Lord brings you into the land of the Canaanites,^(A) Hittites, Amorites, Hivites and Jebusites^(B)—the land he swore to your ancestors to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey^(C)—you are to observe this ceremony^(D) in this month:

⁵ Then I will fulfill the oath I swore^(A) to your ancestors, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey’^(B)—the land you possess today.”

I answered, “Amen,^(C) Lord.”

⁷ For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land^(A)—a land with brooks, streams, and deep springs gushing out into the valleys and hills;^{(B) 8} a land with wheat and barley,^(C) vines^(D) and fig trees,^(E) pomegranates, olive oil and honey;^{(F) 9} a land where bread^(G) will not be scarce and you will lack nothing;^(H) a land where the rocks are iron and you can dig copper out of the hills.^(I)

²⁷ They gave Moses this account: “We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey!^(A) Here is its fruit.^(B)
