⁹ And the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I come to you ^(A)in the thick cloud, ^(B)that the people may hear when I speak with you, and believe you forever.”

So Moses told the words of the people to the Lord.

^36 (A)Out of heaven He let you hear His voice, that He might instruct you; on earth He showed you His great fire, and you heard His words out of the midst of the fire.

¹⁵ Then Moses went up into the mountain, and ^(A)a cloud covered the mountain.

¹⁶ Now ^(B)the glory of the Lord rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day He called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.

¹⁶ Then it came to pass on the third day, in the morning, that there were ^(A)thunderings and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain; and the sound of the trumpet was very loud, so that all the people who were in the camp ^(B)trembled.

^5 (A)While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, ^(B)“This is My beloved Son, ^(C)in whom I am well pleased. ^(D)Hear Him!”

¹¹ “Then you came near and stood at the foot of the mountain, and the mountain burned with fire to the midst of heaven, with darkness, cloud, and thick darkness. ^12 (A)And the Lord spoke to you out of the midst of the fire. You heard the sound of the words, but saw no ^[a]form; ^(B)you only heard a voice.

²¹ So the people stood afar off, but Moses drew near ^(A)the thick darkness where God was.

³¹ Thus Israel saw the great ^[a]work which the Lord had done in Egypt; so the people feared the Lord, and ^(A)believed the Lord and His servant Moses.

⁷ Behold, He is coming with ^(A)clouds, and every eye will see Him, even ^(B)they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.
