²³ And Moses said to the Lord, “The people cannot come up to Mount Sinai, for you yourself warned us, saying, ^(A)‘Set limits around the mountain and consecrate it.’”

¹² And you shall set limits for the people all around, saying, ‘Take care not to go up into the mountain or touch the edge of it. ^(A)Whoever touches the mountain shall be put to death.

^4 (A)Yet there shall be a distance between you and it, about 2,000 cubits^[a] in length. Do not come near it, in order that you may know the way you shall go, for you have not passed this way before.” ⁵ Then Joshua said to the people, ^(B)“Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.”
