2 (A)The Jews assembled in their cities throughout all the provinces of King Ahasuerus to send forth their hand against those who sought their calamity; and no one could stand before them, (B)for the dread of them had fallen on all the peoples. 3 Even all the princes of the provinces, (C)the satraps, the governors, and those who were doing the king’s work [a]advanced the Jews, because the dread of Mordecai had fallen on them. 4 Indeed, Mordecai was great in the king’s house, and the report about him went throughout all the provinces; for the man Mordecai (D)became greater and greater.

New International Version
2 The Jews assembled in their cities(A) in all the provinces of King Xerxes to attack those determined to destroy them. No one could stand against them,(B) because the people of all the other nationalities were afraid of them. 3 And all the nobles of the provinces, the satraps, the governors and the king’s administrators helped the Jews,(C) because fear of Mordecai had seized them.(D) 4 Mordecai(E) was prominent(F) in the palace; his reputation spread throughout the provinces, and he became more and more powerful.(G)
