⁷ He raises the poor^(A) from the dust
    and lifts the needy^(B) from the ash heap;
⁸ he seats them^(C) with princes,
    with the princes of his people.

⁴⁸ for he has been mindful
    of the humble state of his servant.^(A)
From now on all generations will call me blessed,^(B)
49     for the Mighty One has done great things^(C) for me—
    holy is his name.^(D)
50 His mercy extends to those who fear him,
    from generation to generation.^(E)
51 He has performed mighty deeds with his arm;^(F)
    he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.^(G)
52 He has brought down rulers from their thrones
    but has lifted up the humble.^(H)

⁶ No one from the east or the west
    or from the desert can exalt themselves.
⁷ It is God who judges:^(A)
    He brings one down, he exalts another.^(B)

⁸ He raises^(A) the poor^(B) from the dust^(C)
    and lifts the needy^(D) from the ash heap;
he seats them with princes
    and has them inherit a throne of honor.^(E)

“For the foundations^(F) of the earth are the Lord’s;
    on them he has set the world.
