²⁷ and ^(A)give no opportunity to the devil.

⁷ Submit yourselves therefore to God. ^(A)Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

^8 (A)Be sober-minded; ^(B)be watchful. Your ^(C)adversary the devil ^(D)prowls around ^(E)like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

¹⁶ In all circumstances take up ^(A)the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all ^(B)the flaming darts of ^(C)the evil one;

^11 (A)Put on ^(B)the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against ^(C)the schemes of the devil.

¹⁰ Anyone whom you forgive, I also forgive. Indeed, what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ, ¹¹ so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for ^(A)we are not ignorant of his designs.
