Paul’s Stewardship

3 For this reason I, Paul, (A)the prisoner of (B)Christ Jesus (C)for the sake of you (D)Gentiles— 2 if indeed you have heard of the (E)stewardship of God’s grace which was given to me for you; 3 (F)that (G)by revelation there was (H)made known to me (I)the mystery, (J)as I wrote before in brief. 4 [a]By referring to this, when you read you can understand (K)my insight [b]into the (L)mystery of Christ, 5 which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed to His holy (M)apostles and prophets [c]in the Spirit; 6 to be specific, that the Gentiles are (N)fellow heirs and (O)fellow members of the body, and (P)fellow partakers of the promise in (Q)Christ Jesus through the gospel, 7 (R)of which I was made a (S)minister, according to the gift of (T)God’s grace which was given to me (U)according to the working of His power. 8 To me, (V)the very least of all [d]saints, this grace was given, to (W)preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable (X)riches of Christ, 9 and to [e]bring to light what is the administration of the (Y)mystery which for ages has been (Z)hidden in God (AA)who created all things; 10 so that the manifold (AB)wisdom of God might now be (AC)made known through the church to the (AD)rulers and the authorities in (AE)the heavenly places. 11 This was in (AF)accordance with the [f]eternal purpose which He [g]carried out in (AG)Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness and [h](AH)confident (AI)access through faith [i]in Him. 13 Therefore I ask [j]you not (AJ)to lose heart at my tribulations (AK)on your behalf, [k]for they are your glory.

14 For this reason I (AL)bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom [l]every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, 16 that He would grant you, according to (AM)the riches of His glory, to be (AN)strengthened with power through His Spirit in (AO)the inner man, 17 so that (AP)Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being (AQ)rooted and (AR)grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with (AS)all the [m]saints what is (AT)the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know (AU)the love of Christ which (AV)surpasses knowledge, that you may be (AW)filled up to all the (AX)fullness of God.

20 (AY)Now to Him who is (AZ)able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, (BA)according to the power that works within us, 21 (BB)to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations [n]forever and ever. Amen.

3 Por esta causa yo, Pablo, prisionero(A) de Cristo Jesús(B) por amor de vosotros(C) los gentiles(D) 2 (si en verdad habéis oído de la dispensación[a] de la gracia de Dios que me fue dada para vosotros(E); 3 que por revelación(F) me fue dado a conocer(G) el misterio(H), tal como antes os escribí brevemente(I). 4 En vista de lo cual, leyendo[b], podréis[c] comprender mi discernimiento(J) del[d] misterio de Cristo(K), 5 que en otras generaciones no se dio a conocer a los hijos de los hombres, como ahora ha sido revelado a sus santos apóstoles y profetas(L) por[e] el Espíritu; 6 a saber, que los gentiles son coherederos(M) y miembros del mismo cuerpo(N), participando igualmente[f](O) de la promesa en Cristo Jesús(P) mediante el evangelio, 7 del cual fui hecho ministro(Q), conforme al don de la gracia de Dios que se me ha concedido(R) según la eficacia[g] de su poder(S). 8 A mí, que soy menos que el más pequeño de todos los santos(T), se me concedió esta gracia: anunciar a los gentiles(U) las inescrutables riquezas de Cristo(V), 9 y sacar a luz cuál es la dispensación[h] del misterio(W) que por los siglos ha estado oculto en Dios(X), creador de todas las cosas(Y); 10 a fin de que la infinita[i] sabiduría de Dios(Z) sea ahora dada a conocer(AA) por medio de la iglesia a los principados y potestades(AB) en las regiones celestiales(AC), 11 conforme al propósito eterno[j](AD) que llevó a cabo[k] en Cristo Jesús nuestro Señor(AE), 12 en quien tenemos libertad y acceso(AF) a Dios con confianza(AG) por medio de la fe en Él[l]. 13 Ruego, por tanto, que no desmayéis[m](AH) a causa de mis tribulaciones por vosotros(AI), porque son vuestra gloria)[n].

Pablo ora otra vez por los efesios

14 Por esta causa, pues, doblo mis rodillas(AJ) ante el Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo[o], 15 de quien recibe nombre toda familia[p] en el cielo y en la tierra, 16 que os conceda, conforme a las riquezas de su gloria(AK), ser fortalecidos(AL) con poder por su Espíritu en el hombre interior(AM); 17 de manera que Cristo more por la fe en vuestros corazones(AN); y que arraigados(AO) y cimentados(AP) en amor, 18 seáis capaces de comprender con todos los santos(AQ) cuál es la anchura, la longitud, la altura y la profundidad(AR), 19 y de conocer el amor de Cristo(AS) que sobrepasa el conocimiento(AT), para que seáis llenos(AU) hasta la medida de toda la plenitud de Dios(AV).

Doxología

20 Y a aquel que es poderoso(AW) para hacer todo mucho más abundantemente(AX) de lo que pedimos o entendemos[q], según el poder que obra en nosotros(AY), 21 a Él sea la gloria en la iglesia y en Cristo Jesús por todas las generaciones, por los siglos de los siglos. Amén(AZ).

God’s Marvelous Plan for the Gentiles

3 For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner(A) of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles—

2 Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me(B) for you, 3 that is, the mystery(C) made known to me by revelation,(D) as I have already written briefly. 4 In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight(E) into the mystery of Christ, 5 which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets.(F) 6 This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs(G) together with Israel, members together of one body,(H) and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.(I)

7 I became a servant of this gospel(J) by the gift of God’s grace given me(K) through the working of his power.(L) 8 Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people,(M) this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles(N) the boundless riches of Christ,(O) 9 and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery,(P) which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things. 10 His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God(Q) should be made known(R) to the rulers and authorities(S) in the heavenly realms,(T) 11 according to his eternal purpose(U) that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. 12 In him and through faith in him we may approach God(V) with freedom and confidence.(W) 13 I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory.

A Prayer for the Ephesians

14 For this reason I kneel(X) before the Father, 15 from whom every family[a] in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches(Y) he may strengthen you with power(Z) through his Spirit in your inner being,(AA) 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts(AB) through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted(AC) and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people,(AD) to grasp how wide and long and high and deep(AE) is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge(AF)—that you may be filled(AG) to the measure of all the fullness of God.(AH)

20 Now to him who is able(AI) to do immeasurably more than all we ask(AJ) or imagine, according to his power(AK) that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.(AL)
