⁴ just as ^(A)He chose us in Him before ^(B)the foundation of the world, that we would be ^(C)holy and blameless before ^[a]Him. ^(D)In love ^5 [b]He ^(E)predestined us to ^(F)adoption as sons and daughters through Jesus Christ to Himself, ^(G)according to the good pleasure of His will, ^6 (H)to the praise of the glory of His grace, with which He favored us in ^(I)the Beloved.

²² yet He has now ^(A)reconciled you in His ^(B)body of flesh through death, in order to ^(C)present you before Him ^(D)holy and blameless and beyond reproach—

^23 [a]and while being ^(A)abusively insulted, He did not insult in return; while suffering, He did not threaten, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously;

³⁰ “^(A)I can do nothing ^[a]on My own. As I hear, I judge; and ^(B)My judgment is ^[b]righteous, because I do not seek My own will but ^(C)the will of Him who sent Me.

¹⁶ So Jesus answered them and said, “^(A)My teaching is not My own, but His who sent Me.

²⁸ So Jesus said, “When you ^(A)lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that ^[a](B)I am, and ^(C)I do nothing ^[b]on My own, but I say these things as the Father instructed Me.

⁴² Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, ^(A)you would love Me, ^(B)for I came forth from God and am here; for I have ^(C)not even come ^[a]on My own, but ^[b](D)He sent Me.

^49 (A)For I did not speak ^[a]on My own, but the Father Himself who sent Me ^(B)has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak.

¹⁴ For the love of Christ ^(A)controls us, having concluded this, that ^(B)one died for all, therefore all died;
