⁴ just as ^(A)He chose us in Him before ^(B)the foundation of the world, that we would be ^(C)holy and blameless before ^[a]Him. ^(D)In love

²¹ He made Him who ^(A)knew no sin to be ^[a](B)sin in our behalf, so that we might become the ^(C)righteousness of God in Him.

²⁰ because ^(A)by the works ^[a]of the Law ^[b]none of mankind will be justified in His sight; for ^[c](B)through the Law comes ^[d]knowledge of sin.

Justification by Faith

²¹ But now apart ^[e]from the Law ^(C)the righteousness of God has been revealed, being ^(D)witnessed by the ^[f]Law and the Prophets, ²² but it is the ^(E)righteousness of God through ^(F)faith ^(G)in Jesus Christ for ^(H)all those ^[g]who believe; for ^(I)there is no distinction,

⁴ For ^(A)Christ is the ^[a]end of the Law for righteousness to ^(B)everyone who believes.

²¹ I do not nullify the grace of God, for ^(A)if righteousness comes through ^[a]the Law, then Christ died needlessly.”

¹⁰ For all who are of works of ^[a]the Law are under a curse; for it is written: “^(A)Cursed is everyone who does not abide by all the things written in the book of the Law, to do them.”

²¹ Is the Law then contrary to the promises of God? ^[a](A)Far from it! For ^(B)if a law had been given that was able to impart life, then righteousness ^[b]would indeed have been ^[c]based on law.

A New Covenant

⁷ For ^(A)if that first covenant had been free of fault, no ^[a]circumstances would have been sought for a second.

^13 [a]When He said, “^(A)A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. ^(B)But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is ^[b]about to disappear.
