A Prayer for the Ephesians

¹⁴ For this reason I kneel^(A) before the Father,

¹⁶ I have not stopped giving thanks for you,^(A) remembering you in my prayers.^{(B) 17} I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father,^(C) may give you the Spirit^[a] of wisdom^(D) and revelation, so that you may know him better. ¹⁸ I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened^(E) in order that you may know the hope to which he has called^(F) you, the riches^(G) of his glorious inheritance^(H) in his holy people,^{(I) 19} and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power^(J) is the same as the mighty strength^(K)

⁵ When it was time to leave, we left and continued on our way. All of them, including wives and children, accompanied us out of the city, and there on the beach we knelt to pray.^(A)

⁵ Then, at the evening sacrifice,^(A) I rose from my self-abasement, with my tunic and cloak torn, and fell on my knees with my hands^(B) spread out to the Lord my God

Praise for Spiritual Blessings in Christ

³ Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,^(A) who has blessed us in the heavenly realms^(B) with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

¹⁰ Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward^(A) Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees^(B) and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.^(C)
