²⁶ To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom,^(A) knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth^(B) to hand it over to the one who pleases God.^(C) This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

²⁴ Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive,^(A) and your joy will be complete.^(B)

²⁰ This is what Hezekiah did throughout Judah, doing what was good and right and faithful^(A) before the Lord his God. ²¹ In everything that he undertook in the service of God’s temple and in obedience to the law and the commands, he sought his God and worked wholeheartedly. And so he prospered.^(B)

¹⁶ Let the message of Christ^(A) dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom^(B) through psalms,^(C) hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.^{(D) 17} And whatever you do,^(E) whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks^(F) to God the Father through him.

⁹ For this reason, since the day we heard about you,^(A) we have not stopped praying for you.^(B) We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will^(C) through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,^{[a](D) 10} so that you may live a life worthy^(E) of the Lord and please him^(F) in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,^{(G) 11} being strengthened with all power^(H) according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience,^{(I) 12} and giving joyful thanks to the Father,^(J) who has qualified you^[b] to share in the inheritance^(K) of his holy people in the kingdom of light.^(L)
