13 Mab doeth a wrendy ar athrawiaeth ei dad: ond gwatwarwr ni wrendy ar gerydd. Gŵr a fwynha ddaioni o ffrwyth ei enau: ac enaid yr anghyfiawn a fwynha drawsedd. Y neb a geidw ei enau, a geidw ei einioes: ond y neb a ledo ei wefusau, a ddinistrir. Enaid y diog a ddeisyf, ac ni chaiff ddim: ond enaid y diwyd a wneir yn fras. Cas gan y cyfiawn gelwydd: ond y drygionus sydd ffiaidd, ac a ddaw i gywilydd. Cyfiawnder a geidw y perffaith yn ei ffordd: ond annuwioldeb a ddymchwel y pechadur. Rhyw un a ymffrostia ei fod yn gyfoethog, ac heb ddim ganddo: ac arall ei fod yn dlawd, a chyfoeth lawer iddo. Iawn am einioes gŵr yw ei dda: ond y tlawd ni chlyw gerydd. Goleuni y cyfiawn a lawenha: ond cannwyll y drygionus a ddiffoddir. 10 Trwy falchedd yn unig y cyffry cynnen: ond gyda’r pwyllog y mae doethineb. 11 Golud a gasgler trwy oferedd, a leiheir; ond y neb a gasglo â’i law a chwanega. 12 Gobaith a oeder a wanha y galon: ond pren y bywyd yw deisyfiad, pan ddêl i ben. 13 Yr hwn a ddirmygo y gair, a ddifethir: ond yr hwn sydd yn ofni y gorchymyn, a obrwyir. 14 Cyfraith y doeth sydd ffynnon bywyd, i gilio oddi wrth faglau angau. 15 Deall da a ddyry ras: ond ffordd troseddwyr sydd galed. 16 Pob call a wna bethau trwy wybodaeth: ond yr ynfyd a ddengys ynfydrwydd. 17 Cennad annuwiol a syrth i ddrygioni; ond cennad ffyddlon sydd iechyd. 18 Tlodi a gwaradwydd fydd i’r hwn a wrthodo addysg: ond yr hwn a gadwo gerydd, a anrhydeddir. 19 Dymuniad wedi ei gyflawni, sydd felys gan yr enaid: ond ffiaidd gan ynfydion gilio oddi wrth ddrygioni. 20 Yr hwn a rodia gyda doethion, fydd doeth: ond yr hwn sydd gyfaill i ynfydion, a gystuddir. 21 Drygfyd a erlyn bechaduriaid: ond daioni a delir i’r rhai cyfiawn. 22 Y gŵr daionus a ad etifeddiaeth i feibion ei feibion: a golud y pechadur a roddwyd i gadw i’r cyfiawn. 23 Llawer o ymborth sydd ym maes y tlodion: ond y mae a ddinistrir o eisiau barn. 24 Yr hwn a arbedo y wialen, sydd yn casáu ei fab: ond yr hwn a’i câr ef, a’i cerydda mewn amser. 25 Y cyfiawn a fwyty hyd oni ddigoner ei enaid: ond bol yr annuwiolion fydd mewn eisiau.

13 A wise son heeds his father’s instruction,
    but a mocker does not respond to rebukes.(A)

From the fruit of their lips people enjoy good things,(B)
    but the unfaithful have an appetite for violence.

Those who guard their lips(C) preserve their lives,(D)
    but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.(E)

A sluggard’s appetite is never filled,(F)
    but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.

The righteous hate what is false,(G)
    but the wicked make themselves a stench
    and bring shame on themselves.

Righteousness guards the person of integrity,
    but wickedness overthrows the sinner.(H)

One person pretends to be rich, yet has nothing;(I)
    another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth.(J)

A person’s riches may ransom their life,
    but the poor cannot respond to threatening rebukes.(K)

The light of the righteous shines brightly,
    but the lamp of the wicked is snuffed out.(L)

10 Where there is strife, there is pride,
    but wisdom is found in those who take advice.(M)

11 Dishonest money dwindles away,(N)
    but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.

12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
    but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.(O)

13 Whoever scorns instruction will pay for it,(P)
    but whoever respects(Q) a command is rewarded.(R)

14 The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life,(S)
    turning a person from the snares of death.(T)

15 Good judgment wins favor,
    but the way of the unfaithful leads to their destruction.[a]

25 The righteous eat to their hearts’ content,
