¹⁹ And beware lest you raise your eyes to heaven, and when you see ^(A)the sun and the moon and the stars, ^(B)all the host of heaven, you be drawn away and bow down to them and serve them, things that the Lord your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven.

²⁵ because they exchanged the truth about God for ^(A)a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, ^(B)who is blessed forever! Amen.

³ For he rebuilt the high places ^(A)that Hezekiah his father had destroyed, and he erected altars for Baal and made ^(B)an Asherah, ^(C)as Ahab king of Israel had done, ^(D)and worshiped all the host of heaven and served them.

³ and has gone and served other gods and worshiped them, or ^(A)the sun or the moon or any of the host of heaven, ^(B)which I have forbidden,

¹⁶ And they abandoned all the commandments of the Lord their God, and made for themselves metal images of ^(A)two calves; and they ^(B)made an Asherah and ^(C)worshiped all the host of heaven and served ^(D)Baal.

The Seventh Day, God Rests

2 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and ^(A)all the host of them.

¹⁶ And God ^(A)made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. ¹⁷ And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, ¹⁸ to ^(B)rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
