² and you ^(A)return to Yahweh your God and listen to His voice ^(B)with all your heart and soul according to all that I am commanding you today, you and your sons,

⁸ And you shall return and listen to the voice of Yahweh, and you shall do all His commandments which I am commanding you today.

Samuel Judges Israel

³ Then Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, “^(A)If you are to return to Yahweh with all your heart, then ^(B)remove the foreign gods and the ^(C)Ashtaroth from among you and ^(D)set your hearts toward Yahweh and ^(E)serve Him alone; and He will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines.”

^8 (A)but if that nation against which I have spoken turns from its evil, I will ^[a](B)relent concerning the calamity I planned to do against it.

¹¹ So now then, speak to the men of Judah and against the inhabitants of Jerusalem saying, ‘Thus says Yahweh, “Behold, I am ^(A)forming calamity against you and devising a plan against you. Oh ^(B)turn back, each of you from his evil way, and do good in your ways and your deeds.”’

¹⁵ Also I have sent to you all My ^(A)slaves the prophets, rising up early and sending, saying: ‘^(B)Turn now every man from his evil way and make good your deeds, and ^(C)do not walk after other gods to ^[a]serve them. Then you will ^(D)inhabit the land which I have given to you and to your fathers; but you have not ^(E)inclined your ear or listened to Me.
