⁵ and ruled over Mount Hermon and ^(A)Salecah and all Bashan, as far as ^(B)the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and half of Gilead, as far as the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.

⁶ Then the sons of Ammon saw that ^(A)they had become odious to David. So the sons of Ammon sent and ^(B)hired the Arameans of ^(C)Beth-rehob and the ^(D)Arameans of Zobah, 20,000 foot soldiers, and the king of ^(E)Maacah with 1,000 men, and the men of Tob with 12,000 men.
