13 “ ‘Now rise and cross over (A)the [a]Valley of the Zered.’ So we crossed over the Valley of the Zered. 14 And the time we took to come (B)from Kadesh Barnea until we crossed over the Valley of the Zered was thirty-eight years, (C)until all the generation of the men of war [b]was consumed from the midst of the camp, (D)just as the Lord had sworn to them.

13 And the Lord said, “Now get up and cross the Zered Valley.(A)” So we crossed the valley.
14 Thirty-eight years(B) passed from the time we left Kadesh Barnea(C) until we crossed the Zered Valley. By then, that entire generation(D) of fighting men had perished from the camp, as the Lord had sworn to them.(E)
