Stone Those Who Prophesy Against Yahweh

13 “^[a](A)If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, ² and the sign or the wonder comes true, concerning which he spoke to you, saying, ‘^(B)Let us walk after other gods (whom you have not known) and let us serve them,’ ³ you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams; for Yahweh your God is ^(C)testing you to find out if ^(D)you love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul. ^4 (E)You shall walk after Yahweh your God and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and ^(F)cling to Him. ⁵ But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be ^(G)put to death because he has ^[b]counseled ^[c]rebellion against Yahweh your God who brought you from the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of ^[d]slavery, ^(H)to drive you from the way in which Yahweh your God commanded you to walk. ^(I)So you shall purge the evil from among you.

Jerusalem Refined and Tested

13 “In that day a ^(A)fountain will be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for ^(B)sin and for ^(C)impurity.

² “And it will be in that day,” declares Yahweh of hosts, “that I will ^(D)cut off the names of the idols from the land, and they will no longer be remembered; and I will also cause the ^(E)prophets and the ^(F)unclean spirit to pass away from the land. ³ And it will be that if anyone still ^(G)prophesies, then his father and mother who gave birth to him will say to him, ‘You shall ^(H)not live, for you have spoken ^(I)falsely in the name of Yahweh’; and his ^(J)father and mother who gave birth to him will pierce him through when he prophesies. ⁴ And it will be in that day, that the prophets will each be ^(K)ashamed of his vision when he prophesies, and they will not put on a ^(L)hairy mantle in order to deceive; ⁵ but he will say, ‘I am ^(M)not a prophet; I am a cultivator of the ground, for a man ^[a]sold me as a slave in my youth.’
