^9 (A)But you shall surely kill him; ^(B)your hand shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.

^15 (A)you shall surely strike the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, ^[a]devoting it to destruction and all that is in it and its cattle with the edge of the sword.

⁵ then you shall bring out that man or that woman who has done this evil deed to your gates, that is, the man or the woman, and ^(A)you shall stone them, and they will die.

⁴⁰ Then Elijah said to them, “Seize the prophets of Baal; do not let one of them escape.” So they seized them; and Elijah brought them down to ^(A)the brook Kishon, ^(B)and slaughtered them there.
