¹⁹ the great trials that your eyes saw, ^(A)the signs, the wonders, the mighty hand, and the outstretched arm, by which the Lord your God brought you out. So will the Lord your God do to all the peoples of whom you are afraid.

³⁴ Or has any god ever attempted to go and take a nation for himself from the midst of another nation, by trials, ^(A)by signs, by wonders, and ^(B)by war, ^(C)by a mighty hand and ^(D)an outstretched arm, and by great deeds of terror, all of which the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

^10 (A)and performed signs and wonders against Pharaoh and all his servants and all the people of his land, for you knew that ^(B)they acted arrogantly against our fathers. And ^(C)you made a name for yourself, as it is to this day. ^11 (D)And you divided the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on dry land, and you cast their pursuers into the depths, ^(E)as a stone into mighty waters.

²⁰ You have shown ^(A)signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, and to this day in Israel and among all mankind, ^(B)and have made a name for yourself, as at this day. ^21 (C)You brought your people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs and wonders, with a strong hand and ^(D)outstretched arm, ^(E)and with great terror.

¹⁰ And Joshua said, “Here is how you shall know that ^(A)the living God is among you and that he will without fail ^(B)drive out from before you the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Hivites, the Perizzites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, and the Jebusites.

⁶ On that day I swore to them that ^(A)I would bring them out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, a land ^(B)flowing with milk and honey, ^(C)the most glorious of all lands. ⁷ And I said to them, ^(D)‘Cast away the detestable things ^(E)your eyes feast on, every one of you, and do not defile yourselves with ^(F)the idols of Egypt; ^(G)I am the Lord your God.’ ^8 (H)But they rebelled against me and were not willing to listen to me. ^(I)None of them cast away the detestable things their eyes feasted on, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt.

“Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them ^(J)and spend my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt. ^9 (K)But I acted ^(L)for the sake of my name, ^(M)that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations among whom they lived, ^(N)in whose sight I made myself known to them in bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

³ the great ^(A)trials that your eyes saw, the signs, and those great wonders.

² And consider today (since I am not speaking to ^(A)your children who have not known or seen it), consider the discipline^[a] of the Lord your God, ^(B)his greatness, ^(C)his mighty hand and his outstretched arm, ^3 (D)his signs and his deeds that he did in Egypt to Pharaoh the king of Egypt and to all his land, ⁴ and what he did to the army of Egypt, to their horses and to their chariots, ^(E)how he made the water of the Red Sea flow over them as they pursued after you, and how the Lord has destroyed them to this day,
