²⁶ From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.^(A)

⁸ So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth,^(A) and they stopped building the city. ⁹ That is why it was called Babel^[a](B)—because there the Lord confused the language^(C) of the whole world.^(D) From there the Lord scattered^(E) them over the face of the whole earth.

Psalm 91

¹⁸ On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram^(A) and said, “To your descendants I give this land,^(B) from the Wadi^[a] of Egypt^(C) to the great river, the Euphrates^(D)— ¹⁹ the land of the Kenites,^(E) Kenizzites, Kadmonites, ²⁰ Hittites,^(F) Perizzites,^(G) Rephaites,^{(H) 21} Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites and Jebusites.”^(I)
