^4 (A)And the Lord will do to them ^(B)as He did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites and their land, when He destroyed them.

¹⁶ Also you shall ^[a]destroy all the peoples whom the Lord your God delivers over to you; your eye shall have no pity on them; nor shall you serve their gods, for that will ^(A)be a snare to you.

²¹ “And ^(A)I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, ‘Your eyes have seen all that the Lord your God has done to these two kings; so will the Lord do to all the kingdoms through which you pass.

³ “So the Lord our God also delivered into our hands Og king of Bashan, with all his people, and we ^[a]attacked him until he had no survivors remaining. ⁴ And we took all his cities at that time; there was not a city which we did not take from them: sixty cities, ^(A)all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan. ⁵ All these cities were fortified with high walls, gates, and bars, besides a great many rural towns. ⁶ And we utterly destroyed them, as we did to Sihon king ^(B)of Heshbon, utterly destroying the men, women, and children of every city. ⁷ But all the livestock and the spoil of the cities we took as booty for ourselves.

⁸ “And at that time we took the ^(C)land from the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were on this side of the Jordan, from the River Arnon to Mount ^(D)Hermon ⁹ (the Sidonians call ^(E)Hermon Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir), ^10 (F)all the cities of the plain, all Gilead, and ^(G)all Bashan, as far as Salcah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

^11 (H)“For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of ^(I)the ^[b]giants. Indeed his bedstead was an iron bedstead. (Is it not in ^(J)Rabbah of the people of Ammon?) Nine cubits is its length and four cubits its width, according to the standard cubit.

³³ And ^(A)the Lord our God delivered him ^[a]over to us; so ^(B)we defeated him, his sons, and all his people.

²⁴ Then ^(A)Israel defeated him with the edge of the sword, and took possession of his land from the Arnon to the Jabbok, as far as the people of Ammon; for the border of the people of Ammon was fortified. ²⁵ So Israel took all these cities, and Israel ^(B)dwelt in all the cities of the Amorites, in Heshbon and in all its villages. ²⁶ For Heshbon was the city of Sihon king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab, and had taken all his land from his hand as far as the Arnon. ²⁷ Therefore those who speak in ^[a]proverbs say:

³¹ Thus Israel dwelt in the land of the Amorites. ³² Then Moses sent to ^[b]spy out ^(L)Jazer; and they took its villages and drove out the Amorites who were there.

King Og Defeated^(M)

^33 (N)And they turned and went up by the way to ^(O)Bashan. So Og king of Bashan went out against them, he and all his people, to battle ^(P)at Edrei. ³⁴ Then the Lord said to Moses, ^(Q)“Do not fear him, for I have ^[c]delivered him into your hand, with all his people and his land; and ^(R)you shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon.” ^35 (S)So they defeated him, his sons, and all his people, until there was no survivor left him; and they took possession of his land.

²⁸ And ^(A)I will send hornets before you, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite from before you. ^29 (B)I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you. ³⁰ Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased, and you inherit the land. ³¹ And ^(C)I will set your ^[a]bounds from the Red Sea to the sea, Philistia, and from the desert to the ^[b]River. For I will ^(D)deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you shall drive them out before you.

² and when the Lord your God delivers ^(A)them over to you, you shall conquer them and utterly destroy them. ^(B)You shall make no covenant with them nor show mercy to them.
