²⁴ “ ‘Rise, take your journey, and ^(A)cross over the River Arnon. Look, I have given into your hand ^(B)Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land. Begin ^[a]to possess it, and engage him in battle.

¹⁸ And they ^(A)went along through the wilderness and ^(B)bypassed the land of Edom and the land of Moab, came to the east side of the land of Moab, and encamped on the other side of the Arnon. But they did not enter the border of Moab, for the Arnon was the border of Moab. ¹⁹ Then ^(C)Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, king of Heshbon; and Israel said to him, “Please ^(D)let us pass through your land into our place.” ^20 (E)But Sihon did not trust Israel to pass through his territory. So Sihon gathered all his people together, encamped in Jahaz, and fought against Israel. ²¹ And the Lord God of Israel ^(F)delivered Sihon and all his people into the hand of Israel, and they ^(G)defeated^[a] them. Thus Israel gained possession of all the land of the Amorites, who inhabited that country.

^38 (A)and wherever the children of men dwell, or the beasts of the field and the birds of the heaven, He has given them into your hand, and has made you ruler over them all—^(B)you are this head of gold.

²⁰ I have given him the land of Egypt for his labor, because they ^(A)worked for Me,’ says the Lord God.

^5 (A)‘I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are on the ground, by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and ^(B)have given it to whom it seemed proper to Me.

¹⁶ And the seventh time it happened, when the priests blew the trumpets, that Joshua said to the people: “Shout, for the Lord has given you the city!

^36 (A)From Aroer, which is on the bank of the River Arnon, and from ^(B)the city that is in the ravine, as far as Gilead, there was not one city too strong for us; ^(C)the Lord our God delivered all to us.
