⁶ For the Lord your God will bless you, ^(A)as he promised you, and ^(B)you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow, and ^(C)you shall rule over many nations, but they shall not rule over you.

¹² The Lord will open to you his good treasury, the heavens, ^(A)to give the rain to your land in its season and ^(B)to bless all the work of your hands. And ^(C)you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. ¹³ And the Lord will make you ^(D)the head and not the tail, and you shall only go up and not down, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, being careful to do them,

^{21 [a] (A)}Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the ^(B)Euphrates^[b] to the land of the Philistines and to the border of Egypt. ^(C)They brought tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.

³⁵ But ^(A)love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and ^(B)you will be sons of ^(C)the Most High, for ^(D)he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.

^27 (A)Therefore you gave them into the hand of their enemies, who made them suffer. ^(B)And in the time of their suffering they cried out to you and you heard them from heaven, and according to your great mercies you gave them ^(C)saviors who saved them from the hand of their enemies.

²⁰ And mighty kings have been over Jerusalem, ^(A)who ruled over the whole province Beyond the River, to whom ^(B)tribute, custom, and toll were paid.
