40 “And at (A)the time of the end, the (B)king of the South will collide with him, and the (C)king of the North will (D)storm against him with chariots, with horsemen, and with many ships; and he will enter lands, (E)overflow them, and pass through. 41 And he will also enter the [a](F)Beautiful Land, and many countries will fall; but these will be rescued out of his hand: Edom, (G)Moab, and the foremost of the sons of (H)Ammon. 42 Then he will send forth his hand against other countries, and the land of Egypt will not escape. 43 But he will rule over the hidden treasures of gold and silver and over all the desirable things of Egypt; and (I)Libyans and (J)Ethiopians will follow at his [b]heels. 44 But reports from the East and from the North will dismay him, and he will go forth with great wrath to destroy and [c]devote many to destruction. 45 And he will pitch the tents of his royal pavilion between the seas and the beautiful (K)Holy Mountain; yet he will come to his end, and no one will help him.

40 “At the time of the end the king of the south shall attack him. But the king of the north shall rush upon him like a whirlwind, with chariots and horsemen and with many ships. He shall advance against countries and pass through like a flood.(A) 41 He shall come into the beautiful land, and tens of thousands shall fall victim, but Edom and Moab and the main part of the Ammonites shall escape from his power.(B) 42 He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 43 He shall gain control of the treasures of gold and of silver and all the riches of Egypt, and the Libyans and the Cushites shall follow in his train.(C) 44 But reports from the east and the north shall alarm him, and he shall go out with great fury to bring ruin and complete destruction to many. 45 He shall pitch his palatial tents between the sea and the beautiful holy mountain. Yet he shall come to his end, with no one to help him.(D)
