10 En el tercer año del reinado de Ciro de Persia, Daniel, que también se llamaba Beltsasar, recibió una revelación acerca de una gran guerra.[a] El mensaje era verdadero y Daniel pudo comprender su significado en la visión.
2 «En aquella ocasión yo, Daniel, pasé tres semanas como si estuviera de luto. 3 En todo ese tiempo no comí nada especial, ni probé carne ni vino, ni usé ningún perfume.
4 »El día veinticuatro del mes primero, mientras me encontraba yo a la orilla del gran río Tigris, 5 levanté los ojos y vi ante mí a un hombre vestido de tela de lino con un cinturón de oro proveniente de Ufaz. 6 Su cuerpo brillaba como el topacio y su rostro resplandecía como el relámpago. Sus ojos eran dos antorchas encendidas y sus brazos y piernas parecían de bronce bruñido; su voz resonaba como el eco de una multitud.
7 »Yo, Daniel, fui el único que tuvo esta visión. Los que estaban conmigo, aunque no vieron nada, se asustaron y corrieron a esconderse. 8 Nadie se quedó conmigo cuando tuve esta gran visión. Las fuerzas me abandonaron, palideció mi rostro y casi me desvanecí. 9 Fue entonces cuando escuché a aquel hombre. Mientras me hablaba, quedé aturdido y con el rostro en tierra.
10 »En ese momento una mano me tocó y me puso sobre mis manos y rodillas, que aún temblaban, 11 y me dijo: “Levántate, Daniel, pues he sido enviado a verte. Tú eres muy apreciado, así que presta atención a lo que voy a decirte”.
»En cuanto aquel hombre me habló, me puse de pie temblando.
12 »Entonces me dijo: “No tengas miedo, Daniel. Tu petición fue escuchada desde el primer día en que te propusiste ganar entendimiento y humillarte ante tu Dios. En respuesta a ella estoy aquí. 13 Pero durante veintiún días el príncipe del reino de Persia se me opuso, así que acudió en mi ayuda Miguel, uno de los principales príncipes. Y me quedé allí, con los reyes de Persia. 14 Pero ahora he venido a explicarte lo que va a suceder a tu pueblo en el futuro, pues la visión se refiere a un tiempo aún por venir”.
15 »Y cuando él me decía esto, yo me incliné de cara al suelo y guardé silencio. 16 Entonces alguien con aspecto humano tocó mis labios y yo los abrí; entonces comencé a hablar. Y dije al que estaba delante de mí: “Señor, por causa de esta visión me siento muy angustiado y sin fuerzas. 17 ¿Cómo es posible que yo, que soy tu siervo, hable contigo? Las fuerzas me han abandonado y apenas puedo respirar”.
18 »Una vez más, el de aspecto humano me tocó y me infundió fuerzas. 19 Dijo: “No temas, eres muy apreciado. ¡La paz sea contigo! ¡Sé fuerte, sé fuerte!”.
»Mientras él me hablaba, yo fui fortaleciéndome y dije: “¡Habla, mi señor!, porque me has fortalecido”. 20 Y me preguntó: “¿Sabes por qué he venido a verte? Pues porque debo volver a pelear contra el príncipe de Persia. Y, cuando termine de luchar con él, hará su aparición el príncipe de Grecia. 21 Pero antes de eso, te diré lo que está escrito en el Libro de la Verdad. En mi lucha contra ellos, solo cuento con el apoyo de Miguel, el príncipe de ustedes.

10 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.
2 In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.
3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
4 And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel;
5 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:
6 His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
7 And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.
8 Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.
9 Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.
10 And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.
11 And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.
12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
14 Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.
15 And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb.
16 And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.
17 For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.
18 Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,
19 And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.
20 Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come.
21 But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.

Ang Pangitain ni Daniel sa Pampang ng Ilog ng Tigris
10 Nang ikatlong taon ng paghahari ni Cyrus sa Persia, may ipinahayag na mensahe kay Daniel na tinatawag ding Belteshazar. Totoo ang pahayag at tungkol ito sa malaking digmaan. Naunawaan ni Daniel ang pahayag dahil ipinaliwanag ito sa kanya sa pamamagitan ng isang pangitain. 2 Ganito ang nangyari ayon kay Daniel:
Nang panahong iyon, tatlong linggo akong nagdalamhati. 3 Hindi ako kumain ng masarap na pagkain, ni tumikim ng karne o uminom ng alak, at hindi rin ako nagpabango ng katawan sa loob ng tatlong linggo.
4 Nang ika-24 na araw ng unang buwan, nakatayo ako sa tabi ng malawak na Ilog ng Tigris. 5 May nakita ako doon na parang tao na nakadamit ng telang linen at may tali sa baywang na puro ginto. 6 Ang katawan niya ay kumikinang na parang mamahaling bato. Ang kanyang mukha ay kumikislap na parang kidlat, at ang kanyang mga mata ay nagliliyab na parang sulo. Ang kanyang mga kamay at mga paa ay kumikinang na parang makinis na tanso, at ang kanyang tinig ay parang ingay ng napakaraming tao.
7 Ako lang talaga ang nakakita ng pangitaing iyon. Hindi iyon nakita ng aking mga kasama, pero nagsipagtago sila dahil sa takot. 8 Kaya naiwan akong nag-iisa at ako lang ang nakakita ng kamangha-manghang pangitaing iyon. Namutla ako at nawalan ng lakas. 9 Narinig kong nagsasalita ang taong iyon. At habang nagsasalita siya, nawalan ako ng malay at nasubsob sa lupa. 10 Hinawakan at tinulungan niya ako habang nanginginig pa ang aking mga kamay at mga tuhod. 11 Sinabi niya, “Daniel, mahal ka ng Dios. Tumayo ka at makinig nang mabuti sa sasabihin ko sa iyo, dahil isinugo ako ng Dios dito sa iyo.” Pagkasabi niya noon, nanginginig akong tumayo. 12 Sinabi niya sa akin, “Daniel, huwag kang matakot. Sapagkat sa unang araw pa lamang ng iyong pagpapakumbaba sa Dios at sa hangad mong maunawaan ang pangitain, sinagot na ang iyong dalangin. Kaya pumarito ako para dalhin ang kasagutan sa iyong dalangin. 13 Pero hindi ako nakarating agad dito dahil sa loob ng 21 araw ay hinadlangan ako ng pinuno[a] ng kaharian ng Persia. Mabuti na lang at tinulungan ako ni Micael na pinuno ng mga anghel dahil ako lang ang nakikipaglaban sa pinuno ng Persia. 14 Narito ako ngayon para ipaliwanag sa iyo kung ano ang mangyayari sa iyong mga kababayang Israelita sa hinaharap, dahil ang iyong pangitain ay tungkol sa mga mangyayari sa hinaharap.”
15 Habang nagsasalita siya sa akin, napayuko na lang ako at hindi nakapagsalita. 16 Hinipo ako sa bibig nitong parang tao, at nakapagsalita akong muli. Sinabi ko sa kanya na nakatayo sa aking harapan, “Ginoo, nabagabag po ako at nawalan ng lakas dahil sa pangitaing nakita ko. 17 Paano ako makikipag-usap sa inyo gayong wala na akong lakas at halos hindi na ako makahinga?”
18 Kaya muli niya akong hinipo at bumalik ang aking lakas. 19 Sinabi niya sa akin, “Ikaw na mahal ng Dios, huwag kang matakot o mag-alala. Magpakalakas at magpakatatag ka.” Nang masabi niya ito sa akin, muli akong lumakas. Sinabi ko sa kanya, “Ituloy nʼyo po ang pagsasalita, dahil pinalakas nʼyo na ako.” 20 Sumagot siya, “Kinakailangang bumalik ako sa pakikipaglaban sa pinuno ng Persia. Pagkatapos, darating naman ang pinuno[b] ng Grecia. Pero alam mo ba kung bakit ako pumarito sa iyo? 21 Naparito ako para ipaliwanag sa iyo ang nakasulat sa Aklat ng Katotohanan. Sa aking pakikipaglaban, walang ibang tumulong sa akin kundi si Micael lamang, ang pinuno[c] ng Israel.

Daniel’s Vision of a Man
10 In the third year of Cyrus(A) king of Persia, a revelation was given to Daniel (who was called Belteshazzar).(B) Its message was true(C) and it concerned a great war.[a] The understanding of the message came to him in a vision.
2 At that time I, Daniel, mourned(D) for three weeks. 3 I ate no choice food; no meat or wine touched my lips;(E) and I used no lotions at all until the three weeks were over.
4 On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was standing on the bank(F) of the great river, the Tigris,(G) 5 I looked up(H) and there before me was a man dressed in linen,(I) with a belt of fine gold(J) from Uphaz around his waist. 6 His body was like topaz,(K) his face like lightning,(L) his eyes like flaming torches,(M) his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze,(N) and his voice(O) like the sound of a multitude.
7 I, Daniel, was the only one who saw the vision; those who were with me did not see it,(P) but such terror overwhelmed them that they fled and hid themselves. 8 So I was left alone,(Q) gazing at this great vision; I had no strength left,(R) my face turned deathly pale(S) and I was helpless.(T) 9 Then I heard him speaking, and as I listened to him, I fell into a deep sleep, my face to the ground.(U)
10 A hand touched me(V) and set me trembling on my hands and knees.(W) 11 He said, “Daniel, you who are highly esteemed,(X) consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you, and stand up,(Y) for I have now been sent to you.” And when he said this to me, I stood up trembling.
12 Then he continued, “Do not be afraid,(Z) Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble(AA) yourself before your God, your words(AB) were heard, and I have come in response to them.(AC) 13 But the prince(AD) of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael,(AE) one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia. 14 Now I have come to explain(AF) to you what will happen to your people in the future,(AG) for the vision concerns a time yet to come.(AH)”
15 While he was saying this to me, I bowed with my face toward the ground and was speechless.(AI) 16 Then one who looked like a man[b] touched my lips, and I opened my mouth and began to speak.(AJ) I said to the one standing before me, “I am overcome with anguish(AK) because of the vision, my lord, and I feel very weak. 17 How can I, your servant, talk with you, my lord? My strength is gone and I can hardly breathe.”(AL)
18 Again the one who looked like a man touched(AM) me and gave me strength.(AN) 19 “Do not be afraid, you who are highly esteemed,”(AO) he said. “Peace!(AP) Be strong now; be strong.”(AQ)
When he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, “Speak, my lord, since you have given me strength.”(AR)
20 So he said, “Do you know why I have come to you? Soon I will return to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I go, the prince of Greece(AS) will come; 21 but first I will tell you what is written in the Book of Truth.(AT) (No one supports me against them except Michael,(AU) your prince.
