²⁶ Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the door of the furnace of blazing fire; he responded and said, “Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, come out, you servants of the ^(A)Most High God, and come here!” Then Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego ^(B)came out of the midst of the fire.

²⁴ this is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the Most High, which has ^(A)come upon my lord the king: ²⁵ that you be ^(B)driven away from mankind and your dwelling place be with the beasts of the field, and you be given grass to eat like cattle and be drenched with the dew of heaven; and seven ^[a]periods of time will pass over you, until you recognize that the ^(C)Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind and ^(D)bestows it on whomever He wishes.

³² and ^(A)you will be driven away from mankind, and your dwelling place will be with the beasts of the field. You will be given grass to eat like cattle, and ^(B)seven ^[a]periods of time will pass over you until you recognize that the ^(C)Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind and bestows it on whomever He wishes.’

³⁴ “But at the end of ^[a]that period, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven and my ^[b]reason returned to me, and I blessed the ^(A)Most High and praised and honored ^(B)Him who lives forever;
