¹⁸ While he was speaking to me, I was in a deep sleep, with my face to the ground.^(A) Then he touched me and raised me to my feet.^(B)

¹⁸ Again the one who looked like a man touched^(A) me and gave me strength.^(B)

³² Peter and his companions were very sleepy,^(A) but when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him.

¹⁶ Then one who looked like a man^[a] touched my lips, and I opened my mouth and began to speak.^(A) I said to the one standing before me, “I am overcome with anguish^(B) because of the vision, my lord, and I feel very weak.

² As he spoke, the Spirit came into me and raised me^(A) to my feet, and I heard him speaking to me.

⁸ So I was left alone,^(A) gazing at this great vision; I had no strength left,^(B) my face turned deathly pale^(C) and I was helpless.^{(D) 9} Then I heard him speaking, and as I listened to him, I fell into a deep sleep, my face to the ground.^(E)

¹⁰ A hand touched me^(F) and set me trembling on my hands and knees.^(G)

⁶ And now it is because of my hope^(A) in what God has promised our ancestors^(B) that I am on trial today.

⁴⁵ When he rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, he found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow.

4 Then the angel who talked with me returned and woke^(A) me up, like someone awakened from sleep.^(B)

²⁷ I, Daniel, was worn out. I lay exhausted^(A) for several days. Then I got up and went about the king’s business.^(B) I was appalled^(C) by the vision; it was beyond understanding.
