¹⁷ So he came near where I stood, and when he came I was afraid and ^(A)fell on my face; but he said to me, “Understand, son of man, that the vision refers to the time of the end.”

¹⁹ And he said, “Look, I am making known to you what shall happen in the latter time of the indignation; ^(A)for at the appointed time the end shall be.

⁴ “But you, Daniel, ^(A)shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall ^(B)run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”

¹⁷ And ^(A)when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But ^(B)He laid His right hand on me, saying ^[a]to me, “Do not be afraid; ^(C)I am the First and the Last.

¹³ “But you, go your way till the end; ^(A)for you shall rest, ^(B)and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.”

The Northern King’s Conquests

⁴⁰ “At the ^(A)time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him ^(B)like a whirlwind, with chariots, ^(C)horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through.

³⁵ And some of those of understanding shall fall, ^(A)to refine them, purify them, and make them white, until the time of the end; because it is still for the appointed time.

³⁶ “Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall ^(B)exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done.
