²² until the ^(A)Ancient of Days came, and ^(B)judgment was given for the saints of the Most High, and the time came when ^(C)the saints possessed the kingdom.

⁴ Then I saw ^(A)thrones, and ^(B)seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw ^(C)the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those ^(D)who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. ^(E)They came to life and ^(F)reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

The Rider on a White Horse

¹¹ Then I saw ^(A)heaven opened, and behold, ^(B)a white horse! The one sitting on it is called ^(C)Faithful and True, and ^(D)in righteousness he judges and makes war. ^12 (E)His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are ^(F)many diadems, and he has ^(G)a name written that no one knows but himself. ¹³ He is clothed in ^(H)a robe dipped in^[a] blood, and the name by which he is called is ^(I)The Word of God. ¹⁴ And the armies of heaven, ^(J)arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, ^(K)were following him on white horses. ^15 (L)From his mouth comes a sharp sword ^(M)with which to strike down the nations, and ^(N)he will rule^[b] them with a rod of iron. ^(O)He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. ¹⁶ On his robe and on his thigh ^(P)he has a name written, ^(Q)King of kings and Lord of lords.

¹⁷ Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and with a loud voice he called to ^(R)all the birds that fly directly overhead, ^(S)“Come, gather for ^(T)the great supper of God, ^18 (U)to eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all men, both free and slave,^[c] both small and great.” ¹⁹ And I saw ^(V)the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies ^(W)gathered to make war against him who was sitting on the horse and against his army. ²⁰ And the beast was captured, and with it ^(X)the false prophet ^(Y)who in its presence^[d] had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who ^(Z)worshiped its image. These two were ^(AA)thrown alive into the lake of ^(AB)fire that burns with sulfur. ²¹ And the rest were slain by the sword ^(AC)that came from the mouth of him who was sitting on the horse, and ^(AD)all the birds were gorged with their flesh.

¹⁸ But ^(A)the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever, forever and ever.’

⁹ And ^(A)they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded ^(B)the camp of the saints and ^(C)the beloved city, but ^(D)fire came down from heaven^[a] and consumed them, ¹⁰ and the devil ^(E)who had deceived them was ^(F)thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where ^(G)the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Judgment Before the Great White Throne

¹¹ Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence ^(H)earth and sky fled away, and ^(I)no place was found for them. ¹² And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and ^(J)books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is ^(K)the book of life. And ^(L)the dead were judged by what was written in the books, ^(M)according to what they had done. ¹³ And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, ^(N)Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, ^(O)according to what they had done. ¹⁴ Then ^(P)Death and Hades ^(Q)were thrown into the lake of fire. This is ^(R)the second death, the lake of fire. ¹⁵ And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, ^(S)he was thrown into the lake of fire.

⁸ Another angel, a second, followed, saying, ^(A)“Fallen, fallen is ^(B)Babylon the great, ^(C)she who made all nations drink ^(D)the wine of the passion^[a] of her sexual immorality.”

⁹ And another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone ^(E)worships the beast and its image and receives ^(F)a mark on his forehead or on his hand, ¹⁰ he also will drink ^(G)the wine of God's wrath, ^(H)poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and ^(I)he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. ¹¹ And ^(J)the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and ^(K)they have no rest, day or night, these ^(L)worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.”

^12 (M)Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who ^(N)keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.^[b]

¹³ And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: ^(O)Blessed are the dead ^(P)who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, ^(Q)“that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!”

The Harvest of the Earth

¹⁴ Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and seated on the cloud one ^(R)like a son of man, ^(S)with a golden crown on his head, and a sharp sickle in his hand. ¹⁵ And another angel ^(T)came out of the temple, calling with a loud voice to him who sat on the cloud, ^(U)“Put in your sickle, and reap, for the hour to reap has come, for ^(V)the harvest of the earth is fully ripe.” ¹⁶ So he who sat on the cloud swung his sickle across the earth, and the earth was reaped.

¹⁷ Then another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle. ¹⁸ And another angel came out from the altar, ^(W)the angel who has authority over the fire, and he called with a loud voice to the one who had the sharp sickle, “Put in your sickle and gather the clusters from the vine of the earth, ^(X)for its grapes are ripe.” ¹⁹ So the angel swung his sickle across the earth and gathered the grape harvest of the earth and threw it into the great ^(Y)winepress of the wrath of God. ²⁰ And ^(Z)the winepress was trodden ^(AA)outside the city, and blood flowed from the winepress, as high as ^(AB)a horse's bridle, for 1,600 stadia.^[c]

¹¹ But after the three and a half days ^(A)a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood up on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. ¹² Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, ^(B)“Come up here!” And ^(C)they went up to heaven ^(D)in a cloud, and their enemies watched them. ¹³ And at that hour there was ^(E)a great earthquake, and ^(F)a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and ^(G)gave glory to ^(H)the God of heaven.

^14 (I)The second woe has passed; behold, the third woe is soon to come.

The Seventh Trumpet

¹⁵ Then ^(J)the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and ^(K)there were loud voices in heaven, saying, ^(L)“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of ^(M)his Christ, and ^(N)he shall reign forever and ever.” ¹⁶ And the twenty-four elders ^(O)who sit on their thrones before God ^(P)fell on their faces and worshiped God, ¹⁷ saying,

⁸ And then ^(A)the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus ^(B)will kill with ^(C)the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by ^(D)the appearance of his coming.
