² And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with some of ^(A)the vessels of the house of God. And he brought them to ^(B)the land of Shinar, to the house of his god, ^(C)and placed the vessels in the treasury of his god.

^7 (A)Nebuchadnezzar also carried part of the vessels of the house of the Lord to Babylon and put them in his palace in Babylon.

¹¹ He said to me, “To the ^(A)land of Shinar, to build a house for it. And when this is prepared, they will set the basket down there on its base.”

^19 (A)For thus says the Lord of hosts concerning the pillars, the sea, the stands, and the rest of the vessels that are left in this city, ²⁰ which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon did not take away, ^(B)when he took into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem—

The Death of Samson

²³ Now the lords of the Philistines gathered to offer a great sacrifice to ^(A)Dagon their god and to rejoice, and they said, “Our god has given Samson our enemy into our hand.” ²⁴ And when the people saw him, ^(B)they praised their god. For they said, “Our god has given our enemy into our hand, the ravager of our country, who has killed many of us.”^[a]

² And the Lord ^(A)sold them into the hand of ^(B)Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned in ^(C)Hazor. The commander of his army was ^(D)Sisera, who lived in ^(E)Harosheth-hagoyim.

⁸ Therefore the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, ^(A)and he sold them into the hand of ^(B)Cushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia. And the people of Israel served Cushan-rishathaim eight years.

^14 (A)So the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he ^(B)gave them over to plunderers, who plundered them. ^(C)And he sold them into the hand of their surrounding enemies, ^(D)so that they could no longer withstand their enemies.
