^5 (A)Therefore, ^[a]treat ^(B)the parts of your earthly body as dead to ^(C)sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which ^[b]amounts to idolatry.

⁸ But now you also, ^(A)rid yourselves of all of them: ^(B)anger, wrath, malice, slander, and ^(C)obscene speech from your mouth. ^9 [a](D)Do not lie to one another, since you ^(E)stripped off the old ^[b]self with its evil practices,

¹¹ and in Him ^(A)you were also circumcised with a circumcision performed without hands, in the removal of ^(B)the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ,

²² that, in reference to your former way of life, you are to ^(A)rid yourselves of the ^(B)old ^[a]self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the ^(C)lusts of deceit,
