10 (A)Poi vidi un altro[a] angelo potente che scendeva dal cielo, avvolto in una nube; sopra il suo capo vi era l’arcobaleno[b]; la sua faccia era come il sole e i suoi piedi erano come colonne di fuoco. 2 Egli aveva in mano un libretto aperto e posò il suo piede destro sul mare e il sinistro sulla terra; 3 poi gridò a gran voce, come un leone ruggente; e quando ebbe gridato, i sette tuoni fecero udire le loro voci. 4 Quando i sette tuoni parlarono[c], io stavo per mettermi a scrivere, ma udii una voce dal cielo che diceva[d]: «Sigilla le cose che i sette tuoni hanno dette, non le scrivere». 5 Allora l’angelo che avevo visto stare in piedi sul mare e sulla terra alzò la mano destra[e] verso il cielo 6 e giurò per colui che vive nei secoli dei secoli, il quale ha creato il cielo e le cose che sono in esso, la terra e le cose che sono in essa, e il mare e le cose che sono in esso, dicendo che non ci sarebbe stato più indugio. 7 Ma nei giorni in cui si sarebbe udita la voce del settimo angelo, quando egli avrebbe suonato la tromba, si sarebbe compiuto il mistero di Dio, com’egli ha annunciato ai suoi servi, i profeti.

8 Poi la voce che avevo udita dal cielo mi parlò di nuovo e disse: «Va’, prendi il libro[f] che è aperto in mano all’angelo che sta in piedi sul mare e sulla terra». 9 Io andai dall’angelo, dicendogli di darmi il libretto[g]. Ed egli mi rispose: «Prendilo e divoralo: esso sarà amaro alle tue viscere, ma in bocca ti sarà dolce come miele». 10 Presi il libretto dalla mano dell’angelo e lo divorai; e mi fu dolce in bocca, come miele; ma quando lo ebbi mangiato, le mie viscere sentirono amarezza. 11 Poi mi disse[h]: «È necessario che tu profetizzi ancora su molti popoli, nazioni, lingue e re».

The Angel and the Little Scroll

10 Then I saw another mighty angel(A) coming down from heaven.(B) He was robed in a cloud, with a rainbow(C) above his head; his face was like the sun,(D) and his legs were like fiery pillars.(E) 2 He was holding a little scroll,(F) which lay open in his hand. He planted his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land,(G) 3 and he gave a loud shout like the roar of a lion.(H) When he shouted, the voices of the seven thunders(I) spoke. 4 And when the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write;(J) but I heard a voice from heaven(K) say, “Seal up what the seven thunders have said and do not write it down.”(L)

5 Then the angel I had seen standing on the sea and on the land(M) raised his right hand to heaven.(N) 6 And he swore(O) by him who lives for ever and ever,(P) who created the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it,(Q) and said, “There will be no more delay!(R) 7 But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet,(S) the mystery(T) of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets.”(U)

8 Then the voice that I had heard from heaven(V) spoke to me once more: “Go, take the scroll(W) that lies open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.”

9 So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. He said to me, “Take it and eat it. It will turn your stomach sour, but ‘in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.’[a]”(X) 10 I took the little scroll from the angel’s hand and ate it. It tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth,(Y) but when I had eaten it, my stomach turned sour. 11 Then I was told, “You must prophesy(Z) again about many peoples, nations, languages and kings.”(AA)

The Mighty Angel with the Little Book

10 I saw still another mighty angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. (A)And a rainbow was on (B)his head, his face was like the sun, and (C)his feet like pillars of fire. 2 He had a little book open in his hand. (D)And he set his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, 3 and cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars. When he cried out, (E)seven thunders uttered their voices. 4 Now when the seven thunders [a]uttered their voices, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven saying [b]to me, (F)“Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and do not write them.”

5 The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land (G)raised up his [c]hand to heaven 6 and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, (H)who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, (I)that there should be delay no longer, 7 but (J)in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.

John Eats the Little Book

8 Then the voice which I heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, “Go, take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the earth.”

9 So I went to the angel and said to him, “Give me the little book.”

And he said to me, (K)“Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth.”

10 Then I took the little book out of the angel’s hand and ate it, (L)and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth. But when I had eaten it, (M)my stomach became bitter. 11 And [d]he said to me, “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings.”

Той постави десния си крак върху морето, а левия – върху земята, 3 (B)и извика с висок глас, както лъв реве. А когато извика, седемте гръма заговориха със своите гласове. 4 (C)И когато седемте гръма заговориха, реших да пиша, но чух глас от небето да казва: „Запази в тайна това, което казаха седемте гръма, а не го записвай.“

5 (D)И ангелът, когото видях да стои върху морето и върху земята, вдигна дясната си ръка към небето 6 (E)и се закле в Онзи, Който живее вечно и Който сътвори небето и каквото е на него, земята и каквото е по нея, и морето и каквото е в него: „Няма повече да се отлага. 7 (F)В дните, когато затръби тръбата на седмия ангел, ще се изпълни тайната на Бога, както Той я беше благовестил на онези, които Му служеха – пророците.“

8 И гласът, който бях чул откъм небето, ми заговори отново и каза: „Иди, вземи разгънатия малък свитък от ръката на ангела, който стои върху морето и върху земята!“ 9 (G)Тогава отидох при ангела и му казах да ми даде малкия свитък. А той ми рече: „Вземи и го изяж! В стомаха ти ще бъде горчив, но в устата ти ще бъде сладък като мед.“

10 И взех малкия свитък от ръката на ангела и го изядох. В устата ми беше сладък като мед, но като го изядох, стана ми горчиво в стомаха. 11 И ми каза: „Ти трябва отново да пророкуваш за много племена, народи, езици и царе.“
