Prologo
1 Rivelazione di Gesù Cristo che Dio gli diede per render noto ai suoi servi le cose che devono presto accadere, e che egli manifestò inviando il suo angelo al suo servo Giovanni. 2 Questi attesta la parola di Dio e la testimonianza di Gesù Cristo, riferendo ciò che ha visto. 3 Beato chi legge e beati coloro che ascoltano le parole di questa profezia e mettono in pratica le cose che vi sono scritte. Perché il tempo è vicino.
I. LE LETTERE ALLE CHIESE DI ASIA

4 Giovanni alle sette Chiese che sono in Asia: grazia a voi e pace da Colui che è, che era e che viene, dai sette spiriti che stanno davanti al suo trono, 5 e da Gesù Cristo, il testimone fedele, il primogenito dei morti e il principe dei re della terra.
A Colui che ci ama e ci ha liberati dai nostri peccati con il suo sangue, 6 che ha fatto di noi un regno di sacerdoti per il suo Dio e Padre, a lui la gloria e la potenza nei secoli dei secoli. Amen.
7 Ecco, viene sulle nubi e ognuno lo vedrà;
anche quelli che lo trafissero
e tutte le nazioni della terra si batteranno per lui il
petto.
Sì, Amen!
8 Io sono l'Alfa e l'Omega, dice il Signore Dio, Colui che è, che era e che viene, l'Onnipotente!
Visione preparatoria
9 Io, Giovanni, vostro fratello e vostro compagno nella tribolazione, nel regno e nella costanza in Gesù, mi trovavo nell'isola chiamata Patmos a causa della parola di Dio e della testimonianza resa a Gesù. 10 Rapito in estasi, nel giorno del Signore, udii dietro di me una voce potente, come di tromba, che diceva: 11 Quello che vedi, scrivilo in un libro e mandalo alle sette Chiese: a Efeso, a Smirne, a Pèrgamo, a Tiàtira, a Sardi, a Filadèlfia e a Laodicèa. 12 Ora, come mi voltai per vedere chi fosse colui che mi parlava, vidi sette candelabri d'oro 13 e in mezzo ai candelabri c'era uno simile a figlio di uomo, con un abito lungo fino ai piedi e cinto al petto con una fascia d'oro. 14 I capelli della testa erano candidi, simili a lana candida, come neve. Aveva gli occhi fiammeggianti come fuoco, 15 i piedi avevano l'aspetto del bronzo splendente purificato nel crogiuolo. La voce era simile al fragore di grandi acque. 16 Nella destra teneva sette stelle, dalla bocca gli usciva una spada affilata a doppio taglio e il suo volto somigliava al sole quando splende in tutta la sua forza.
17 Appena lo vidi, caddi ai suoi piedi come morto. Ma egli, posando su di me la destra, mi disse: Non temere! Io sono il Primo e l'Ultimo 18 e il Vivente. Io ero morto, ma ora vivo per sempre e ho potere sopra la morte e sopra gli inferi. 19 Scrivi dunque le cose che hai visto, quelle che sono e quelle che accadranno dopo. 20 Questo è il senso recondito delle sette stelle che hai visto nella mia destra e dei sette candelabri d'oro, eccolo: le sette stelle sono gli angeli delle sette Chiese e le sette lampade sono le sette Chiese.

Prologue
1 The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave(A) him to show his servants what must soon take place.(B) He made it known by sending his angel(C) to his servant John,(D) 2 who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God(E) and the testimony of Jesus Christ.(F) 3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it,(G) because the time is near.(H)
Greetings and Doxology
4 John,
To the seven churches(I) in the province of Asia:
Grace and peace to you(J) from him who is, and who was, and who is to come,(K) and from the seven spirits[a](L) before his throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness,(M) the firstborn from the dead,(N) and the ruler of the kings of the earth.(O)
To him who loves us(P) and has freed us from our sins by his blood,(Q) 6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests(R) to serve his God and Father(S)—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.(T)
7 “Look, he is coming with the clouds,”[b](U)
and “every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him”;(V)
and all peoples on earth “will mourn(W) because of him.”[c]
So shall it be! Amen.
8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,”(X) says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come,(Y) the Almighty.”(Z)
John’s Vision of Christ
9 I, John,(AA) your brother and companion in the suffering(AB) and kingdom(AC) and patient endurance(AD) that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God(AE) and the testimony of Jesus.(AF) 10 On the Lord’s Day(AG) I was in the Spirit,(AH) and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,(AI) 11 which said: “Write on a scroll what you see(AJ) and send it to the seven churches:(AK) to Ephesus,(AL) Smyrna,(AM) Pergamum,(AN) Thyatira,(AO) Sardis,(AP) Philadelphia(AQ) and Laodicea.”(AR)
12 I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands,(AS) 13 and among the lampstands(AT) was someone like a son of man,[d](AU) dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet(AV) and with a golden sash around his chest.(AW) 14 The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire.(AX) 15 His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace,(AY) and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.(AZ) 16 In his right hand he held seven stars,(BA) and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword.(BB) His face was like the sun(BC) shining in all its brilliance.
17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet(BD) as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me(BE) and said: “Do not be afraid.(BF) I am the First and the Last.(BG) 18 I am the Living One; I was dead,(BH) and now look, I am alive for ever and ever!(BI) And I hold the keys of death and Hades.(BJ)
19 “Write, therefore, what you have seen,(BK) what is now and what will take place later. 20 The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand(BL) and of the seven golden lampstands(BM) is this: The seven stars are the angels[e] of the seven churches,(BN) and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.(BO)

Giăng trình bày về sách nầy
1 Khải thị [a] của Chúa Cứu Thế Giê-xu, ban từ Thượng Đế, để trình bày cho các tôi tớ Ngài những việc sắp xảy ra. Chúa Giê-xu sai thiên sứ bày tỏ cho tôi tớ Ngài là Giăng được biết. 2 Giăng thuật lại mọi điều mình chứng kiến. Đây là lời của Thượng Đế và là thông điệp của Chúa Cứu Thế Giê-xu. 3 Phúc cho ai đọc thông điệp của Thượng Đế; phúc cho người nào nghe thông điệp nầy và làm theo những lời đã được ghi chép vì những việc ấy sắp xảy đến.
Lời của Chúa Giê-xu phán cùng các hội thánh
4 Giăng kính gởi bảy hội thánh thuộc miền Á-châu.
Nguyền xin ân phúc và bình an ở cùng anh em. Bình an và ân phúc do Đấng đã đến, đang đến và sắp đến cùng do bảy thần linh trước ngôi Ngài, 5 và do Chúa Cứu Thế Giê-xu. Ngài là nhân chứng chân thật, người đầu tiên sống lại từ trong kẻ chết và là vua các vua trên đất.
Ngài yêu chúng ta, giải thoát chúng ta khỏi tội lỗi bằng huyết của sự chết Ngài. 6 Ngài biến chúng ta thành một nước và thầy tế lễ để phục vụ Thượng Đế, Cha Ngài. Nguyền vinh hiển và quyền năng thuộc về Chúa Cứu Thế Giê-xu đời đời! A-men.
7 Kìa, Chúa Giê-xu đang đến giữa đám mây, mọi người sẽ nhìn thấy, kể cả những kẻ đã đâm Ngài. Mọi dân tộc trên thế gian sẽ than khóc về Ngài. Thật vậy, các điều ấy sẽ xảy đến! A-men.
8 Chúa là Thượng Đế phán, “Ta là An-pha và Ô-mê-ga. [b] Ta là Đấng hiện có, trước đã có và sẽ còn đời đời. Ta là Đấng Toàn Năng.”
9 Tôi, Giăng là anh em của anh chị em. Tất cả chúng ta đều dự phần trong sự đau khổ của Chúa Cứu Thế, trong Nước Trời và trong sự nhẫn nhục. Tôi bị đày trên đảo Bát-mô [c] vì rao giảng lời Thượng Đế và lời của Chúa Giê-xu. 10 Vào ngày của Chúa, khi được cảm nhận Thánh Linh, thì tôi nghe tiếng vang sau lưng tôi như tiếng kèn. 11 Tiếng ấy nói rằng, “Hãy viết điều ngươi thấy vào một quyển sách rồi gởi cho bảy hội thánh: Ê-phê-sô, Xi-miệc-nơ, Bẹt-găm, Thi-a-ti-rơ, Xạt-đi, Phi-la-đen-phia và Lao-đi-xê.”
12 Tôi quay lại để xem ai nói với tôi. Vừa quay lại, tôi bỗng thấy bảy chân đèn vàng 13 và có ai trông “giống như Con Người” đứng giữa bảy chân đèn. Ngài mặc áo dài, thắt đai vàng ngang ngực. 14 Đầu và tóc Ngài giống len trắng như tuyết, mắt như ngọn lửa. 15 Chân Ngài giống như đồng cháy đỏ khi nung trong lửa, tiếng Ngài như tiếng nước lũ ào ào. 16 Tay phải Ngài cầm bảy ngôi sao, miệng Ngài thò ra gươm hai lưỡi sắc bén. Ngài giống như mặt trời rực sáng.
17 Vừa thấy Ngài, tôi té xuống chân Ngài như chết nhưng Ngài đặt tay phải trên tôi và bảo, “Đừng sợ. Ta là Đầu tiên và Cuối cùng. 18 Ta là Đấng sống. Ta đã chết nhưng bây giờ ta sống đời đời! Ta cầm chìa khóa của sự chết và âm phủ. 19 Cho nên hãy viết điều ngươi thấy, điều đang xảy đến và sắp xảy đến. 20 Đây là ý nghĩa bí mật về bảy ngôi sao mà ngươi thấy ta đang cầm trong tay phải và bảy chân đèn vàng. Bảy chân đèn vàng là bảy hội thánh, còn bảy ngôi sao là thiên sứ của bảy hội thánh ấy.”
